Happy New Year! Fresh and ready to go we are with a new Guide Rail, taking us underground through nearly 2 miles of abandoned tunnel in Somerset. The Combe Down and Devonshire Tunnels were lethally deadly to loco crews in the days of steam, but today stand as a memory to the curious life of the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway.
This is a route I've wanted to walk for a long time, so enjoy it with me!
