FMPD officers start at $25.40/hr. Like most PDs across the country, they are having difficulty hiring. Lowering the entrance standards leads to further problems down the road. Hopefully a shiny new headquarters will attract more applicants.

Thats cool that the county or who ever allowed fire dept. To do training exercises on the metal buildings. So my grandparents and family owned a electrical buisness here in Las Vegas Nv, and the 95 freeway expansion was going to take most of the land so the government came in and put an offer on the table, it was a take or loose it offer unfortunately. Anyways when we got everything out besides some things that had to stay that couldnt be moved out of the metal building we let Swat, Police and the fire department do some of their newer tactics and train before the construction companies came into level the building. But it was a really neat thing to be able to watch when i was a youngin. Along with the family. But seeing the fire department in your video just brought back the memory and i just wanted to share.
Always good to see behind the curtain regarding the type of work folks like you do. I wonder if a group of people who knew what they were doing, were allowed admittance just before the demo job occurs, they could retrieve the various items with instructions on what you didn't want damaged, see what you wanted from the booty they collected and whatever was left from the materials... they could then recycle on their own. Melting down the aluminum and other metals might be something a person can do with your permission of course, leaving you to do what you need to do to get the job done in a timely manner so you can move on to the next big project.
Our guys are trained well and are great at going through and getting the things we want. We usually get a good amount of stuff of the big projects that make it worth to have a crew there first. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching! Are you in this line of work?
@@removeitprosdemolition My dad used to salvage copper, steel, and aluminum decades back then cash them out at the local recycle facility. As for me, no, I don't do that. Have no place to store such items where I live and am abit limited in what I can do these days. I do, however, appreciate the work of those who can and do such activity. It's a great way to repurpose such items either in the form they exist presently or to recycle them into a different format.

In building demos my list of money losers are ( tires, oils, fluorescent lightbulbs , asbestos tile, railroad ties, time recovering refrigerant & extra time with people fiddle fucking around, thinking we can make extra money disassembling things ). What did I miss?
I agree with it all except the fiddle farming around disassembling part. Www.reuseitpros.com we do just shy of 1 million a year on selling stuff we disassemble. Not everything just certain stuff.
@@removeitprosdemolition , if the money is there & time permits, absolutely . I’m not wasting time on maybes ( maybe we can sell that boiler , maybe I can sell that cooling tower). Time is money , if it’s not a for sure in a timely manner, I’ll take the eight cents a pound.
