Join me on a virtual walking tour of Yerevan, Armenia on a hot summer evening. We will explore the vibrant and colorful streets of the capital city, where history and modernity coexist.
We will start our tour at Saryan Street, named after the famous Armenian painter Martiros Saryan. This street is full of cozy cafes, art galleries, and souvenir shops. You can admire the paintings of Saryan and other local artists, or enjoy a cup of coffee and a slice of cake.
Next, we will head to Pushkin Street, which connects Saryan Street with Teryan Street. Pushkin Street is one of the oldest streets in Yerevan, dating back to the 19th century. It is also one of the most beautiful streets, with its elegant buildings, green trees, and flower beds.
We will continue our tour on Teryan Street, which is one of the main arteries of Yerevan. Teryan Street is named after the renowned Armenian poet and public figure Hovhannes Teryan. This street is full of life and energy, with its shops, restaurants, bars, and clubs.
From Teryan Street, we will turn to Northern Avenue, a pedestrian avenue that connects the Opera House with Republic Square. Northern Avenue is a modern and stylish street, with its high-rise buildings, luxury hotels, and brand stores.
Finally, we will reach Republic Square, the heart of Yerevan. Republic Square is a large circular plaza that is surrounded by impressive buildings with pink tuff stone facades. You can see the Government House, the National Gallery, the History Museum, and the Marriott Hotel. You can also enjoy the spectacular fountain show that takes place every evening with lights and music.
