From my understanding Rome in Europe was founded on several hills, This city in Georgia is in The ridge and Valley region. because it's hilly and has mountains nearby they name after the city in Europe.

@@JaylenTurner-JT If you watch any drone video you see Rome GA is in a valley ........ For whatever the reason In North Georgia people don't take advantage of the geography you would never know it's there. Even in the Metro Atlanta their mountains and people are unaware.
