This episode of #WalkingThroughThePain kicks off a series of adventures I had while visiting Ohio and West Virginia in the eastern United States.
On May 25th, 2024, I’m at Mile 7,828 on Amtrak, bound for Sandusky, Ohio, to visit Cedar Point, a legendary amusement park famous for its record-breaking roller coasters in height, speed, inversions, and airtime.
It's been about 20 years since my last visit, and I’m thrilled to explore all the “new to me” rides and attractions. Armed with my Fast Pass and All Day Meal Plan, I set out to end the day with little to no voice.
After a fun-packed day, I return to my motel and wrap up this episode with the usual invitation to “come walk a mile with me and experience the magic.”
While in Sandusky, I spot a black squirrel and a family of geese.
After the credits, stick around for a sneak peek of the next episode, where I head to Cleveland to attempt the 100-mile Towpath Trail. What WAS that noise? And an awesome video bomb.

What a great video! The coaster info captions are awesome, and add a bit of depth to the material. I love that. I was especially impressed with the moving shots in the opening sixty seconds (Chicago, and first walking in the park). For not using a gimble, the moving shots were very smooth. And the time you took to capture really exciting shots of the coasters and rides was well worth it! Time well invested. Congrats, sir! Keep walking!

Thank you so much for your kind words. I had such a great time. In my research of the rides, I had no idea of just how many records were broken over the years.

It's SO much fun. I DO wish it were a bit greener (more trees, and such) with less concrete, BUT...the breezes coming off of Lake Erie are really wonderful. And if you're there at sunset or after dark, the ascent on Millenium Force (an exceptionally smooth and fast ride up the hill) is like an elevator into the sky. The views are gorgeous, and you can see to Canada on clear days, as well. Have a blast!

If you stay on the train, you go thru the animitronic "Boneville." You either have to get on on Frontier Town or just stay on the train. So sorry you missed it!.

@walkingthroughthepain I love that part because it reminds me of when I visited the park with my mom and dad when I was too short for most rides. They're both gone now, but I have great memories of our annual visits there. I was the youngest of 10 kids. I can't imagine how they wrangled us throughout the park!

@@PatrickRyan150 my dads work used to have their yearly company picnic there until the late 80s. Sad to see the boat ride gone tho. I’d totally appreciate it now that I’m older.

@@EllenJacob-Oliver Nice! I was born a couple years before the Gemini. I remember when they had a double Ferris wheel about where the Ocean Motion is now. It’s pretty amazing the live through all the changes the park has made since the mid 1970s. My family would go every year through the 80s & 90s. We lived about a 45 min drive away. Prior to this year, I hadn’t been about 20+ years since I’ve been.

@@walkingthroughthepain My First Year Of Going To Cedar Point Was Back In 2014 I Was 7 Years Old And Thats The Year I Went On Blue Streak And I Didn't Like It When I Was Younger And Now Im 17 Years Old

@@EllenJacob-Oliver my first was the Wild Cat (similar to the wild mouse…I prefer the cat to the mouse). Blue streak was next but seats were different. I shared the seat, belt and lap bar with my dad who was close to 300 lbs. I would fly up out the seat. Now everyone has their own restraints and a divider is between ride partners.
