WALL-E 4K Criterion Collection Unboxing 

I’ve purchased a lot of criterion titles this year and a lot of the big popular releases this year and also some smaller titles as well. WALL-E legitimately is the #1 best individual title release by Criterion in 2022 imo. Just it is filled to the absolute brim with special features including 2 commentaries, 2 short films, a feature-length documentary, several new supplements made specifically for this release, and just an absolute boat load of behind the scenes content. Also the booklet with all of the storyboards, concept art, hand-written notes, and fun little post-it notes everywhere is all so fun to see and read. I really hope this title sells well so Bob Iger notices it’s high sales and decides to greenlit and solidify an actual deal with Criterion for future disney-owned titles.

I got mine yesterday with Malcolm X. It’s good to see with those, Lost Highway, and The Infernal Affairs Trilogy that digipacks aren’t dead at Criterion

WALL-E is my favorite Pixar film. I've seen it many times over the years and still enjoy it. Thanks for the unboxing and I really like the artwork Criterion chose.

Why have I never seen this release! Might not have released in the uk so will have a check. Are the blurays multi region or region locked?

Found this video by searching for Wall-e 4K, a suggestion would be to lower your saturation on camera. No hate just doesn’t look optimal as is

I had a copy in my hands earlier today but had to put it back on the shelf because I live north of Niagara falls and it retails for $52.99 + tax

I Never purchased a criterion 4k movie. What is the difference between a regular 4k and the criterion version? Also does it play on a regular 4k player?

Happy Thanksgiving! Interesting first choice! Like you, I only saw it once, but I remember it being my favorite Pixar movie. I thought Incredibles was their 10/10 masterpiece and also the only superhero movie worthy of a 10/10, but Wall-E was my favorite. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it now especially with your fantastic discussions on silent movies being that I think the first 40 minutes lack dialogue. I don't generally care much for dystopian movies because at a certain point it's like we get the point already watching a movie about something sad isn't going to fix the problem, but I remember Wall-E was more of a hopeful, optimistic movie weaving in a cautionary tale within the romance and beautiful visuals. Looking forward to your follow up video with Grace and your friend! Also, still excited to hear your Wes Anderson ranking and your thoughts on Nightmare Before Christmas if you get around to it since I'd like to know if it holds up! That was a meaningful movie for me but if it stinks, go full swiss cheese on it! You're my favorite movie reviewer because even if I disagree taste-wise, you give impartial factual and logical takes that I can't disagree with which makes me want to change my tastes to be similar to yours such as with The Amazing Spider-man compared to my beloved Sam Raimi Spider-man...3! haha Speaking of which, I remembered you mentioning on Cap's stream about buying Spider-man figures, and being that there might be some Thanksgiving sales, but have you looked into Mafex? They're expensive, but check out the resale value on eBay. I think there's a 3rd new repaint coming out since their original Spider-man was so popular. It might even be their fourth in a way since they just released a black suit Spider-man and I think they're the same figure but maybe slight retooling, new accessories, and repaint...wait, I think there's actually another one too coming with Dr. Doom robot colors. Oh wait, they also made a Ben Reily Spider-man and are coming with a Scarlet Spider, so maybe such popular characters like Spider-man and Batman might not hold their value since they might keep re-releasing and improving them but if there's a more niche character you like, it might be worth checking out! I pre-ordered their Nightwing from amiami (a Japanese site) for about $60 and it might have expensive shipping but for U.S. sites it's around $115 new so I think it will be way cheaper and it will be way faster. It's the first time I ever ordered from them though. I bought their Deadpool (since I was a fan of the 90s Joe Kelly comic run, not the movies) from eBay thanks to a coupon, and I made it my banner (along with a Space Ghost figure haha) but being that I held it upside down to take a picture, one of the sword hilts fell out and, apparently, the carpet monster ate it since I looked for about an hour and couldn't find it, so that's something to consider if you buy a figure with a lot of accessories. Just thought I could bring it up with Thanksgiving sales coming up and if you're interested there might be coupons somewhere! Hope you, Grace, and your kids have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
