What do your fire alarms look like? Ours are red with the word "fire" on them.

@@dollsandcats1597 Watch any UK fire alarm video. I'm not from the UK but they're basically the same all over Europe, the only thing changing being the alarm sound (in Europe most fire alarm sounders can do multiple, often 32, different sounds, that you can set with a small switch box on the back of the sounder). In the US these European sounders exists and are sold as general/industrial alarms mainly by Federal Signal, which has their own Selectone line and they also rebrand European Roshni/Flashni sounders made by British company Cooper Fulleon. As for the "pull stations", we've actually got "push stations" or "call points" as they're called here. They all look similar: a red box (usually with a fire logo, rarely words) with a white (or black) plastic (more rarely glass, on older units) plate, with a button in the middle and two arrows pointing at it painted in black (or white if the plastic thing is black or if it uses glass). You have to push hard (not too hard so anyone can set them off, but hard enough to avoid false alarms) and basically that will fold the plastic (or break the glass on the old units), which will push (or release) a switch and usually (but not always) release a yellow tab (and/or a red LED) to indicate that the button has been pressed. To reset/walk test them, if it's a unit with folding plastic you just insert a key and turn it (on some models the reset key will lower the bottom of the station and you have to push it back up to complete the reset), or if it's an old break glass unit you'll need to replace the glass by removing the cover (usually with a key or a screwdriver), put the broken glass sheet away and put a new one back in. Also the break glass units have their glass in a sheet so it doesn't really break to avoid cutting your hand while triggering the alarm (except on some ancient 70's break glass stations where it's real glass and you basically have to punch it really hard or use an object like a shoe, a hammer or any other tool to trip it. These stations are being replaced as they're unsafe and very hard to trip)
