Where back after a 2 year hiatus from Covid lockdowns. Firewood is now like gold in my area. No better time to buy a processor. WP845

Looks like theyve changed a couple things on these newer ones. Mine is a WP 830 from 2015. The weight plate is a much heavier construction. The auto split levers are in a better spot now. You have to bend or squat down to hit the levers on the older ones. The perforations to the chutes are a nice feature. Lets more junk fall out..

I have the wp840 and love it, bought it in 2018. And there is a learning curve to it for sure, here is a tip that will speed up things I always pull my log up first before engaging splitter and that way I'm cutting the next block while it's a splitting

Yes Sir its a great machine. Its almost paid for itself in the first 2 months of work. I had to adjust my auto cycle and now I can run it exactly as you said. I actually have to start cutting again this next month. I have nearly 200 cord of logs decked ready for processing.

Kinda hilarious how much smoke your chainsaw was blasting. I wonder if my 500i would work as the bucking saw?

I’d recommend getting a 404 harvester bar and chain. Very rugged. But the carbide is a bad idea if you’re doing a lot of in the field dragging. In a nice clean wood yard I’d go with the harvester set up.

I actually have 404 .63 chain on it. Rapco Solid Carbide is the ultimate chain and I have been running it for nearly 30 years, nothing comes close to it for two cycle, small engine saws. Its perfect for cutting dirty logs, sharpening is very easy with diamond wheel. I can cut over 5x the wood before sharpening vs standard chain. Running a Harvester chain on a 394 burns out the clutch, ruins crank and rod bearings, just no reason for it.

@@RangerReview i see. I think you can run it on the new ones or at least on the 3120 I believe. I meant to say the carbide was a good idea for doing in the field cutting with dirty wood. I’m thinking of I go this route I would at least get a 592 so I can run the bigger heavier chain for longer cutting times and have all the speed.

@@heathenfirewoodservice2021 3120 is a great saw, I had one for years running a 50" bar. Burned it up once and rebuilt with richer jetting. Firewood sales are nice to have when the real estate market is crashing.

@@RangerReview right. I think my first real equipment purchase will be a good high out put commercial splitter to fix my out put capabilities. And that will enable me to stay ahead of making product as well. It’s a tie between wolf ridge and built rite. I have to see if the local company that helps with commercial development will do a good small business loan. And i need to other paper work to get ID numbers I’ll do that but i just don’t know what they need yet b

Heh I bought one of these. I can't seem to get it running. I see a white wire strapped to spark plug. Any idea where it hooks up too

The wire wrapped around the spark plug is your hour meter. It stays there. If the unit is new make sure there is gas in it and then make sure to turn the choke all the way on and turn the throttle up to around 75%. Make sure you have oil in the motor and hydraulic fluid in your site window of the big tank.
