6:00 "You may be wondering why the red shirt? Well that’s so zeds can’t see me bleed. This zed’s got the right idea - he wore the brown pants!" -- Chester Zedpool
I tried making a pz video inspired by your style and absolutely underestimated the work that goes into these! So thank you for what you're doing! Love every series
The bop montages take AAAAAGEEEEES on its own. Video editing is no joke. Its no wonder that most youtubers source out that job after they get big enough to pay for an editor.
After the great ship wall, you could try taking out the staircase on the other side of the ship so the zombies can’t get up their. Then just have ropes for you to go up and down.
Problem is that’s a death sentence. Because zombies will pull the rope down when they encounter it. So if you go down there, you’re entirely trapped once that rope goes.
Funny that a major crop loss that would ruin another run isn't a big deal here. May the Great Wall shield Chester in his future endeavors. One day we hope it will no longer be needed.
If you use certain walls without windows it wouldn't have mattered like just se3ing the frames up he's standing next to a glass wall and window as well as the building just pouring through. Maybe for sightings its useful but not much else
Since you mentioned you are on the 3rd floor.... why even spend all that time and resources on building a walled off area, when you can really just dissemble the floors and basically make a moat with a chokepoint you can fortify? you're 100% sure the Z's won't break down any walls and worry about future repairs with no planks available too.
he would still have to make a wall around at least one side of the moat to ensure he himself doesnt fall in. Also Im not sure if he's able to disassemble the floors that are on the outside of the building, aka the not wooden floors, but concrete and brick. I think for now, this is probably the safer option, considering how buggy the whole missing floor thing can be. If he falls down and doesnt land on the walkway, its almost certainly death with 1) all the injuries and 2) all the zombies lol
Damn what work to wall off that section but judging by the zombies streaming out of the hardware store it was 100% the right move. I also think there were some cabbages or so ready to harvest that you missed.
Then he slips up and drops chester right bellow. Best way to get the run ended. Yes, it might work, though he will need to consider the higher levels as they provide a hih ground path that if poorly plamned, the one tile hole line will be useless.
1 thing that keeps bothering me is the big double orange and blue trashcans. They should all have trash bags in them and there are a lot dotted around. So Lime should be able to make several water collectors from just the trashcans in his walled off area.
Knowing you can break through the floor to the sip beneath, the cheese would be to do that at the top of each staircase to the lower decks, locking those zeds down there forever. Obviously that's not fun though!
5:45 You could always throw a sheet rope over the side of the ship and use the river water. Water should never really be an issue. Technically you're leaving the ship because of game limitations but in reality you'd be using that rope with a bucket or something to get the water. Edit: I just realized that probably requires a sledgehammer as you can't hang sheet ropes off premade structures.
This map mod puts this ship RIGHT IN LV. And there's a damn access stairway to the city, blockading the stair access paths is also potentially risky, you will be doing contruction right over a path for the zeds. Construction makes noise, enough to get zeds within a Cell or a chunk of one at least to move to the source of noise, and it disregards vertical distance.... Aka every damn zed the floors bellow in reach of the horizontal AoE will climb there. And they like to cause damage to player made structures afaik. So blocking those entrances will be an even worse threadmill work than just walling off a section of the upper deck space and rebuild destroyed sections when needed.
There's a walkaway running above the wall line you built. Zombies may path to you by walking above your walls and then jump below to reach you. Just a reminder so you didn't build all those walls for nothing
how many days in Project Zomboid would it take you to kill off the entire planet's population of zombies? 8.1 billion... i did a quick bit of maths with some rough guesses on what you do on average per day.. im thinking it would take you 300,000 years
If Chester is keeping the windows on his side of the wall barred you could completely disassemble the floor just in front of the window. On Chester's side the window is barred and on the other side there is a hole which Zomberts won't bother walking to. But then that might cause to much anxiety.
Lime, I think a fun video idea would be surviving 100 days in the wilderness with sprinter zombies and you can’t live in buildings, you have to build your own home in the forest
I have a cool challenge idea once this challenge is done A Dead Rising Challenge with self-forced challenges (or Cases) you need to beat before a set time and you can only survive off stuff you find in the Mall and set the zombie population to triple
Try putting up a wall frame over a busted window and see if you can climb through. If you can't, then would be better then planks over windows. That way, you don't have to worry about going back and rebuilding eplacing.
i would have used a wooden gate door with the window port, would be better. probs add windows next to the gate with metal bars for reinforcement so you can see through. can also add sheets so you can peek through when you need to
You already took the 1st floor layer in that building that's why you are now digging the main floor up. You can get all the 1st layers in all the rest of the buildings.
whats the ai like on this game? you know you made a hole in the ground down to another deck right? could you make zombies fall into the hole? what about making a fence for zombies to climb over and fall on their faces, only.. you dug a hole in the deck so instead they fall straight to the other deck... you climb the fence at one end when they are all chasing you, but then go around the hole and parallel to the pit and the fence and as all the zombies clamber over the fence they all fall into the pit.. and if you do the pit right at one end of the boat, away from the stairs, you could end up with 1000s just all in one tiny area all away from where you need to go on the ship? later on you could drop molotovs down the hole
Theres probably 20 different spots you could've cheesed the planks from yet you chose to destroy your bar... future Chester will regret this decision :(
Call me crazy, but, um...wouldn't it be easier to remove the floor at the top of the stairs? ...I mean, if they walk up, to step off the stairs and fall back down, it's not like they will be a problem. Yeah, walling off the room to the stairs...after taking out the whole floor in there, of course. You could own the whole ship above the lower decks, for a fraction of what this has already cost, the flooring you pull up will probably cover it. 80 planks IS a lot of planks. Like, wow, an "open pit/stairs to fall back down into the hold" setup is far cheaper, and takes less time. And, if you ever NEED to go down below decks....sheet-ropes are a thing, so maybe a window where the door to the stairwell used to be, would be an idea...instead of a wall...🤔
