Trying to remove wallpaper can be a real pain, even if is only a border. To make the wallpaper removal process easier, I suggest getting a little steam to help.
Wet wallpaper is easier to remove than dry. The moisture helps to soften the glue and allows you to peel it away from the wall. But just wetting the paper is not perfect. Using a power steamer was even more helpful. The steam penetrates the paper even faster and definitely makes the glue even easier to remove.
In this video, I use a Wagner On Demand 915 Power Steamer to do just that. In another corner of the room, I tried to just peel the dry paper. It didn't work. The paper just tore or the pattern would come away but leave the glued layer behind. It was rough and I didn't try to do too much just because of the damage being done. In this case, the steamer worked like magic. It was quick and thorough. No residue left behind.

I will be trying this on another project where the paper was scored and torn from the wall. Tons of paper residue and glue left behind. That will put the steamer to the test. But for this small project, it worked wonders.
