Some concert band somewhere (I believe University of North Texas Wind Symphony) playing Greg Danner's "Walls of Zion". It is being played this year by the CRJH Honors Band of Katy, TX. (We almost played it last year, when I was in that band. Of course, when I get to high school, they decide to play it.) Well, this is for you, Matt, Mr. Impatient. :P

We played "The Promise of Living" in our wind ensemble this year, and I hadn't realized until now that the low brass theme is taken almost directly from "The Walls of Zion". That sneaky Copland...

as a percussionist....... i felt that. i love the song so much but waiting until, what, the last few measures (it's been years so i don't remember) to play anything? painful lmao.
