We are continuing to get our upstairs walls done. We got some foam block for the house since it was such a good price right now. The boys went on a well deserved and needed snowboarding trip.
Thank you for uploading new video..it makes my heart calmed knowing that you are all okay out there despite the cold weather...and glad to see also that Terrel and the boys are having fun after many days of hard work.... On to the next🙏❤️❤️❤️😊
Your a hardworking man who is luckiest to have found a great mate and raised good kids. I envy you for following your dreams and taking life as it’s comes to you. In April I will have been married to my bride for 50 years. I don’t know where the time went but somehow she raised our two boys. One is a Police Commander and the other has his own electronics business and the oldest gave us a granddaughter and a grandson. We are truly blessed and I hope you will be as well. You and your family are my favorite You Tube channel so please keep em coming! Very Best Regards Fred Thomas in Skokie IL.
I absolutely love your rustic look to me much better than sheetrock I always think that would gives you that cozy warm protected feeling. We used galvanized wainscoting up to a chair rail then went board and batten on the upper parts of our walls Love The Rustic look
Were up here in Alaska and from the looks of it , you guys got dumped on with snow. Mild winter so far here , guess it all went down there. Best wishes , great job.
Saw an interesting video by someone running a sawmill about how to build a habitable structure using lumber you have milled and stay legal. You can hire the same lumber graders that check and stamp the stuff you can buy at big box stores on an hourly rate so having all the lumber cut and dried to under the 19% moisture will let you have the stuff you milled graded and stamped so legal to use on a house. The fun part of the process is if you already know how much you need for the load bearing parts of the structure you can use non graded lumber for the filler walls and any graded lumber you have left over you can then sell as the grading and stamp is tied to that board so if you needed 15,000 board feet and milled 30,000 you would then have 15,000 board feet you can legally sell when you know you don't need it. Well worth the temporary cost of a barn/shed to store it in for it to dry as you can get it low enough just air drying for a year so no need to pay for kiln dried stuff or build a solar kiln and batch dry it.
I was so excited to see you had a new post. I love seeing your family’s progression with the ranch. And I love your mellow, calm personalities. So hard to wait for the the next video, but love that you’re not changing who you are and how you do things to get more subscribers/views. Keep up the good work.
@@maryblaylock6545 Anybody can own a construction company. That does not qualify someone in the trade. Just get a level and put it into your gun rack on your p/u. Non pros know the importance of a vapor barrier in a cold climate.
Liked to see your son using hammer and nails on that quality wood and not that sissy nailgun everybody is using. My father build houses all his life and never owned a nailgun.
Please no quarter round mounding. It looks so cheap and unprofessional and not timber framing at all. It does not justice to your skills. Baseboard is the way to go, 3-4" high!
Love the blue pine walls, totally agree, it's the way it should be! I don't know many who love that kind of vacation in winter, except to ski...I love Montana (kalipell) in winter. Never was outdoor type growing up in CO in winter (don't ski) but that area up in Montana made me love winter! We went to Glacier National more in winter than summer, though we practically lived there being only 20 minutes away. If you guys get a chance to visit that place, go go go, you won't regret it! Anytime of year. I saw those falls and immediately thought of spring run off, I bet it's magnificent! Just love your channel, and family! Thanks so much for sharing! Smiles and blessings...
In a world full of crazy, you guys remind me that there are good people left. Been watching from the start. Keep up the hard work, can’t wait to see a barn build.
The wall boarding is coming along great. Playing in the snow looks fun! I bet it is cold!! Y'all Take Care & Stay Safe. ~ Carl & Judy Lamar County, ALABAMA. ~
I have been following your journey for a year or so now. My first comment here. Great work ethic you have and you are passing it on to your next generation in a great way. Very nice to see the house coming together. God Bless.
dude, the answer is too recessed the pine boards the thickness of the boards, it is a lot of hard work too do, but just cut too fit. using a nailer board behind them. you only lose the thickness too the nailer.
how do you put so much attention to the little character details that most on RU-vid don't show or do? I can't wait every week for your progress. What is your back ground in construction? I also love seeing your kids helping and not complaining that is rare now days.
@@bustedwagonranch4546 Wonderful to have good examples in your life who could show you what hard work👷♀️ can make. I love walls and floors with character. Somehow it just seems more home like to me. Blessings on you and your family and friends and any livestock you might have wandering around the house and yard, stay healthy too. ❄☃️🌲
That water fall in the ice and snow is terrifying to me. But I think I'm fairly safe, as the nearest snow is 4000klms away in the eastern Aussie, and only in winter.
It looks that way. It was difficult insulating around the bracing. But we have been filling it in as we go as we find any holes. This insulation is a r36 so we're alittle over insulated on the walls if there is such a thing
Beautiful area that you were in with the snow machines. Love the waterfalls. You’re progressing quite well on your build. We enjoy watching your channel.
So good to see your post! I like the current schedule. It lets me build anticipation and really shows off how much you have done. Nice work on the upstairs, really looking good! Have you noticed any temp change (warmer) now that insulation and walls are going up? I'm glad you took the weekend. That is why you moved to the area in the first place. Enjoy the beauty, calmness and family! Thanks for sharing.
its taken me forever but about 95% done hanging my sheetrock got my tanks in the ground and just today i bought my first plumbing stuff. your barn is starting to look good. i still dont have a clue what i'm going to put around my house yet but at this time i dont care i just want to get moved into it ASAP
