WalMart used to let truckers and travelers stay in their parking lots overnight. Truckers were upset that Walmart stopped this courtesy. It really wasn't the trucker's fault. It was more the travelers. I say travelers with a wide scope. The travelers would pick the 24-hour WalMarts. The Walmart near me is no longer a 24-hour Walmart, nor does it allow overnight camping. Your idea has good merit. Although I think it needs some tweaking. Vending machines and overnight fees for camping for the homeless might not work unless you redefine the word homelessly.

Who's paying for that? When you say "maintained by the city", you actually mean funded by taxpayer dollars and managed by an inept government.

Actually in Canada when they opened you could get half decent clothes at a decent price and you could get house hold merchandise cheaper than anywhere except ikea but now the clothes are as expensive as smaller stores but Walmart clothes quality is in my opinion crap and they ate as or more expensive than the regular stores. Now the house hols merchandise is outrages. It put all the smaller stores out of buisness and now in my opinion that they dominate the market they are gouging people. I never buy anything but food at Walmart now.

It’s just that since the pandemic they still haven’t lowered their prices. For example, Janitorial household items all if not most are overpriced. Their fish is real expensive. The Walmart plus deal, they are trying to compete with Amazon but they try to sneak fees like paying a “tip” to the driver when they ship from the local store. Also, they are always out of at least one item, always!
