My wife bought me the whurdig before Christmas. I was Looking to get a benchmade bugout (which I still ended up buying) but decided to look on Walmart to see what they had in folding knives. I Saw the advertisement for the Swiss Tech line and sent the link to my wife and I got in the mail 3 day later. For $30 it’s worth the price. It’s good simple knife. Fits perfect in my hand. I’m not a big fan of fat knives so I was glad that it was the same size as the as bugout and he Kershaw I carry. It’s one of the 5 I switch out daily.

Cool new line of knives. I was reading through some of the negative comments. I think some folks miss the point here. Not everyone has access to funds for high quality or high priced knives. Also, not many are knife nuts like us and have the knowledge like most of us do. This knife line is for the common person that enjoys carrying a knife for their everyday tasks like opening packages, opening mail, etc. If they buy one of these knives, it allows them to explore the world of pocket knives, see what they do or don't like, and adjust their next purchase Accordingly. I am thinking that this is a great new line for Walmart. Thanks for showcasing it Beez.

Well said. And to be real honest, I was intrigued as of the first knife he showed, that Swiss Tech with red accents. I'm a knife guy and have been all my life- carried my first pocket knife at five years old. Will definitely be checking these out if they're reasonably priced. I have a son in first grade who likes knives as much as I do.

I'm very blessed. Both my wife and I have great jobs and no debt. We worked hard for that. My point being I can buy any knife I want (at the risk of sounding like an arrogant douchebag) but I typically don't spend more than 30 bucks on an edc knife. I have lost them, broken them had them stolen etc etc. That doesn't break my heart like losing a benchmade or spyderco etc. Some people are pragmatic and I think these knives would serve 99% of the knife carrying population. Don't listen to the elitists.

@@kentuckyboy541 Busted my backside the become debt free. It was worth all the "sacrifice's" When my friends were living large, I stayed focused. Now it's biting them in butt. Vehicles being repo'd, about to be foreclosed on. Buried in credit card debt. Reap what you sow. Now, back on topic. I consider you get what you pay for. I treat my EDC knife like I treat my EDC handgun. Not going to trust my life or anyone I love life to save a few bucks. When you NEED it, it better WORK! Don't be surprised when things get ugly and it fails. At least the money you save can be used to get the brass handles on your coffin.

@@georgemarcouxjr6192 point taken. I'm talking about a knife for daily use for the general public. I have very good gear as well but I'm just referring to a daily use knife. Worrying about steels and brands and all this other crap kills the wallet, and kills enjoyment of the hobby (but also investment of tools). These looks more interesting than the current same lineup Walmart has had for decades.

I wont lie I chuckled at the title and I hate going to walmart. Unless I have to I go elsewhere but I understand most of america shops there often. Its good to see them stepping up their game and sell decent knives. Always gets to me when people have some gas station special knife with 440ss or a mystery steel. This will put better knives in more pockets which is always a good thing. And I was thinking how the choil and flipper tab looked like a civivi.. the weird almost finger choil but not quite.. then you pulled out the elementum. Good stuff. Maybe kershaw will take the hint and put a choil on their lower end knives lol
@BeezBlades

I agree. Majority of people do not know about steel, and the only thing they know about knives is what they see hanging at a big box store. These are a fantastic introduction into the knife world. There are a lot of people that only buy from Walmart online, and that's where they will find these. I'm excited for such nice knives that will introduce so many new people into nicer pocket knives than what they've been buying at the gas station.

Bicycle style multi tool with ratcheting bits very nice. The leatherman style multi tool priced very nice be interesting to see how the various tools stand up to routine tasks around the house or campsite ect... The knives are very nice looking and simple. Not very intimidating for sure. I'm thinking you could put a very sharp edge on them.

Ive never heard of this channel before, but this guy puts a lot of effort into puffing up these products. Too much energy and repetitive buzzwords. He would do well to find a thesaurus. These knives are pretty cool, considering they came from wal-mart, but definitely not worth the effort he's putting into this review. Kickbacks from Walmart? Bet

Those “gentleman’s knives” have countersink screws on the clip, AND a countersunk clip? Hardly any, including high-end knives (e.g. WE) have that! That’s a great refinement and very impressive!

I agree, though this F5.5 would qualify as high-end for most buyers. It’s a GREAT knife, which does everything I want well. On top of that, it’s built like a small tank, has good steel and should last forever. I particularly like copper/brass/bronze, and the extra weight? I LIKE IT.

I have some nice higher end knives for hunting and edc, but I keep cheap replaceable folders (and at work I gotta keep the Ontario rat 3 Gobar) in my toolbox at home, my toolbox at work, and in my center console in my truck. You can use them like a pry bar, cut open bags/boxes of parts, scrape with them, hand them to the apprentice (who will undoubtably bring it back chipped up and completely dull) and if it breaks or gets lost, who cares! Cheap knives are just as important and arguably my useful then expensive knives, I wouldn’t use my benchmade to scrape RTV silicone off or pop a stick on wheel weight off, but I’ll do it all day with a cheap folder they sell at Walmart….. or an opinel…. Or the glutton for punishment that is the Ontario Rat 3 gobar.
@BeezBlades
@BeezBlades Год назад
Will said, my friend. Some folks knock on the cheap knives, or the cheaper steel... But you are absolutely correct. I'll use my nicer knives for slicing, but if it comes to scraping and doing super dirty work, I'm definitely going for the budget option. Thank you, brother!

You got to remember... There are millions of people out there that have never bought their first pocket knife, and they don't know anything about buying knives online. I think these are great starter knives. I wish there were Knives like this at Kmart and the hardware store when I was growing up. The knives I bought in the blister packs were complete junk. The knives had mystery Steel and you could not sharpen them. I think these are great for people to discover the knife world, and how enjoyable it is to have a pocket knife with great action, ergonomics, and steel that they can sharpen. If you think about this from a non-knife collector standpoint, and someone that has never owned a knife... These would be an amazing gift or first purchase. The average person that's going to buy a knife has no idea that the steel means anything, so they will at least be starting with a decent steel. Something I hope I never forget is that the majority of the people watching my knife videos are not knife collectors... They are people that are not a part of the knife community yet, and it can be the first time they've ever seen a knife on video. The majority of views on my channel are not subscribers. They are folks we have never heard of before, from all over the United States and the world. If they get one of these knives, then it may ignite a passion for pocket knives that they did not know existed, in the knife community gains another member. I always love hearing year opinions broham🤗🌞👊🐝
@shaynegables
@shaynegables Год назад
I was only making a point that if you're stuck in a budget world at least get the best knife for your money. That is what it's about right? A person can only afford a knife under $40, that's fine, they can get a great knife for that price. Those same materials are on one of the greatest EDC knives of all time for the same money and it's sold at Walmart too. The RAT1 in Aus8 is an amazing performer from an American company being produced in Taiwan instead of a country that actively seeks our demise. I dislike when any company pretends to be from somewhere they're not, hence the brand name. It's deceptive.

Hahaahaha. My Swiss tech jacket (with Winkler "Knight Zipper" pull attached, which was 3X the price of the jacket. Haha) from wal mart finally crapped out after a solid 4.5 Buffalo winters. Not the best, but got the job done all while slowly deteriorating over the years until finally a few random zipper teeth started falling off the other day. If their knives are anything like their jackets, they should be just fine for edc use until you ultimately sharpen the blade away after a few years. Lol. Really dig the designs. Imagine those designs made by a reputable US company out of premium steels. Those would be nice.
