Put the jugs out on a calm night with small hooks and no weights that's a very good way to get them

Also use 8lb mono and don't tie the hooks on like you did have a short piece of line of the main line to tie the hooks to. The goal is to let them swallow the hook

Flair I would recommend sain netting the pond since it’s so shallow you could order a shrimp net with really small holes that is 100 feet or longer and that way you would be able to get a majority of them out in one day

As a culinary professional with 15 years in the industry, and an avid fish fryer, i must say to you sir.... FLOUR FIRST! Then binder! Then batter! Extra crispy! Plus, the batter stays on! Seriously though, light seasoning on the fish, then into the flour. Then toss in your binder. Have all your dry batter in a large ziplock bag and use to shake and press in your dry batter. Also check out beerless beer batter for extra thiccness and crunchiness.

Ive been catching some big honkin Bullheads recently on chub lines, live or cut bait, with bobbers. Those Bullies fry up nice. I should add, you do attend to the bobbers, and they bite pretty quick, but if you leave them be too long they seem to come off. Also cast netting could work, those stingers get caught in netting super easily.

Hey Flair, I absolutely love your videos. I'm a pretty seasoned jug fishermen so I have a little tip you may like for DIY Jugs. You can put some PVC pipe through the pool noodles and put caps on the ends. On one end you can put in on those screw in hooks and on the other you can put some reflector tape.

We always used to take the big catfish gut it, leave head on and skin season it with garlic onion and garlic and put garlic, tomatos, onion in the chest cavity and put it on grill and cook until done or smoke it and eat the skin too

Hey man, for future reference. If you build any more jugs, I highly recommend gluing pvc pipe inside your pool noodle. Then you're able to drill a hole through the pipe to tie your line/rope to. And personally I've never used any weights, but also use a heavy rope as line. Love the vids!

Bullhead cakes, similar to crab cake (loosely based on that) 1 large potato (grated) 1 lb of fillets (ground) 1 small onion (grated) 1 Egg 2 TBS flour 2 TBS parsley salt, pepper, dash of cayenne, plus any other seasoning you like mix all the ingredients together and form into 1/2" thick by 1" round patties. pan fry in oil. serve with tartar sauce. to make it crispier do your hot sauce and fish breading on the outside, then fry them.

When you whole fry a catfish. Cut vertical slices all the way down the body to the spine about an inch apart. The breading gets down in the slits and makes it easier to pull off bite sizes. Just a little pro tip 😊

I think you should make jumbo versions of those crawfish traps. They already worked so good. Use the regular crawfish traps and the big ones you’ll make, and trap EVERY day and eventually you’ll get them

Brine a catfish in the fridge for 24 hours in water, enough salt mixed in to float an egg, black pepper to taste. Remove, rinse, pat dry. Place on your Traeger or other smoker(use a foil drip pan or your smoker will taste like fish for awhile!) and smoke on low until meat temp reads 165 to 180(higher temp gets more of the fat out). Serve with a pile of crackers. Leftovers are great mixed into a fish dip...

Don’t know what the regs in your area are for cast nets but they can be a fast way to remove stuff if you can concentrate them with something like a bait or feeder. Just make sure there’s not anything on the bottom that’ll hang up a net.

For the double enclosure with the Quail, if you were able to put the Barrel behind the enclosure, you could put two lines coming out of it to cover both sides of the pen and not need two barrels to cover both sides of the enclosure. Maybe a 55 gallon would make sense there.

You can always try to build a small shock device for your bullhead pleasure. But seriously bullheads normally feed on or near the bottom so the more of them you can get to lay on the bottom the more you will catch but if there are carp in there you can possibly get a few of those as well.

The Moore’s habanero wing sauce makes a great binder and it makes a great flavor with a quick dunk. I also like the blue bag of Louisiana fish batter from Walmart. Cut chicken breast into inch-ish cubes and those two make the best home made chicken Nuggets I’ve ever had
