I believe “Chronomaly” comes from Chrono (time) and Anomaly, because they’re based on unexplained anomalies that have happened throughout our history.

Larry, you gotta start investing that $40 into packs with a decent amount of money cards if you ever want to break even. Most of the newer sets don't have big money cards, and the ones that have stuff like collector rares in make it too hard to pull them in just a few packs. I think I'd have gone for the older packs there.

I don’t think the focus is to actually try and make profit in the most optimal way. It’s to buy into what’s new/available as if to say can anyone just walk into a store and hit it big off of a handful of packs. The series seems to be more of an experiment/study than anything else.

@@jacoblindsey1455 I’ll go even further with what you’re saying. The series shows me to never buy packs again unless you want the nostalgia of randomly getting a great card. If you want to get your money’s worth you have to buy individual cards.

10:43 Chronomalies are called OOPArts in the OCG. OOPArt is the acronym for Out-Of-Place Artifact, which refers to artifacts that, given the technology and development levels of the time period the artifact is determined to be from, makes no sense to exist in that time period. For example: Chronomaly Tuspa Rocket is based on the Istanbul Rocket, a supposed 3000 year old space module.

Back in the Khans era of MTG I got a fair amount of boosters from walmart. I got a LOT of fetch lands that way, more than one could reasonably expect.

Technically, depending on your luck, you can also order cards online, but at that point, you're basically buying physical items that are randomized in packs for the equivalence of basically a lootbox or something; You don't know which box you're getting, you don't know what's gonna be in it, and you don't know if it's being weighed or not. It's all luck at that point, which is basically like going to a casino and playing slots or blackjack because they're the only two games in the Casino.

Chronomaly cards were introduced in the ZEXAL era (everybody's favorite) and they are based off of ancient relics, such as Atlantis, Machu Picchu mechs, etc.

Am I missing something? At the end of episode 18 Larry remained at -$14 in the hole. Spent $35 on ghosts from the past and got back about $35 back in cards. So he ended the episode at -$14. However, at the start of episode 19 he said he was at $0. So he forgot about the -$14. He should be at -$101... 🥺

Jar of Generosity actually is a neat and interesting card. From my point of view, its used to get rid of a card that is in your hand and that you don't want that card in your hand. Example for Blue-Eyes players, Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon is a card you don't want to see in your hand but in your deck. At least for the most part anyway lol. Although, I don't run Jar of Generosity because personally I find that card for casual play than competitive play but who knows, I could be wrong. Anyway nice pack openings :)

Just went to walmart to pick up some sleeves and some packs and to see if they had that new structure deck and the card section is gone. I usually go every couple months to get some new sleeves and they ENTIRE section of cards is now gone and my store doesn't carry it anymore
