Bless your hearts! I'm a 69 y/o widow and not in very good health but I've been able to freeze my own pumpkin puree, can a few tomatoes and make a mix for cream of anything soups. I grew the onions and peppers I mixed with tomatoes and froze some too. I have to sit down and cut stuff up but I'm able to keep going!
We also have a large pantry and prep. Just a little tip for you and your viewers which we find makes rotating easier. We take a sharpie and write the expiration date (just the month and year) on the front label of the can. It’s time consuming but I believe it saves time in the long run especially if you are older and find it hard to read the expiration dates to begin with.😂
Great grocery haul 👍 and money 💰 well spent. I like chicken noodles soup with a can of sliced 🥕 carrots. I like the Hunts pasta sauce too. My husband is out of work so we go to a few food pantries. I am grateful for this food. We are 65 now. God be your all everyone.❤
I'm so glad y'all showed up in my feed. My grandparent have gone on to Glory, and y'all remind me of them. Watching this was like getting a hug from Heaven.❤
What a treat to have your you tube show up on my feed!! A wonderful, kind , Christian couple ! You feel like home❤️ My husband and I are 71 yrs old. We prep cause our kids don’t !!
Thank you for reminding me to buy tomatoes with green chilies. Yes prepping is something you have to work at and we know The Lord will provide but you should still be prepared.
Y'all are so sweet. I am the worst when it come to grocery shopping. Im even worse when it comes to meal planning. Lol Ill have food in the cart, i honestly don't believe i have anything hardly. Those are the 2 main things i need help with. Its like my brain doesn't comprehend it. I really do love soups and stews. I grew up with it. My husband likes it. Its not his favorite. God bless you always. Take care. Love, Madeline ❤
Just found your channel today. I usually shop only once a month as I hate it. But seeing your channel has inspired me to do pantry stocking also with those big quantities. Hubby and I are in our early 70s and we live in Maine where the winters can be brutal, but we love it here. I see you buy a lot of Great Value brands. I have tried some of them but you have inspired me to try more!
One way to use up some of your extra cream of mushroom soup is to cook off white rice and mix them together. So yummy! This video was so helpful. At this time of year, I start slowly stocking up to get through the next winter.
I enjoy your video. I subscribed. We are respectfully 80 and 71 years of age. Stocking up on canned, frozen pot pies, and house cleaning items was our last haul. We usually bring home cooked foods from the Deli.
New sub here, just discovered your channel yesterday. We are also a retired couple, and we stay prepped with a deep pantry and full freezers. Among other good reasons to prep is the skyrocketing cost of food. Everything on my pantry shelves is a hedge against inflation because those same items will cost more next month. We recently did a big canned food haul from Aldi’s and Walmart pickup the same day, as they are close together in our town. Shopping day is tiring, so we plan for a super easy supper, like sandwiches.
When I make chili I use one can of Hormel chili, one can of tomato soup , one can of stewed tomatoes and one can of light red kidney beans. I also add some cooked rice or pasta and add chili powder or cumin to it and it is delicious .
Hey my Christian friends. Are the prices of just necessities insane? Just to be safe my hard working husband and I have been prepping for a while now. Now I'm retired and I just can't seem to get my hard working children to understand what's going on. I have two small grand babies and I worry about their future with the poor but no good leadership happening inside our own American government now. I say prep and stock up as much as we can with non perishable foods. I'm already stocked up on dried noodles and pastas. Nice to know you guys are doing better. Keep it up and God Bless you both and God Bless AMERICA.🙏👍❤❤
Your not alone. Mine think I’m gonna garden extra can extra and send it to them in the mail lol. I said I can’t do that. It would cost more than I can afford. Crazy kids lol
What are you prepping for? Why wouldn’t you just prepare to meet Jesus, the Bible tells us not to worry about tomorrow, as Christians we should know better! All your video is doing is a form of fear mongering😔
First time seeing your channel....you two are so sweet and considerate of each other...so nice to see..........you shop the same things I do, I cannot walk too far on a trip and was wondering how much a buggy would hold.......so i know now and thank you for the video.
New subscriber. Loved your prep haul! I'm in NW Arkansas, but lived in Greenville, SC about 8 years ago. When I heard Maria say y'all were stopping by Bojangles for a chicken biscuit, my mouth stared watering! Lol. I used to get one every morning on the way to work. We do not have Bojangles here, sadly. I miss it. I am new to prepping, but went out today to a neighboring town to check out a couple of discount/grocery salvage stores that I heard about and boy did I find a lot of great deals. Spent $371 for non perishable food and meats for the freezer. It's just me and this should put me close to a four month supply with plenty to share if the need arises. I look forward to watching your older videos and catching up. Thank you for sharing your lives with this community! God Bless---Patti
Good evening Calvin and Marie, Marie you look beautiful. 🌹 Great grocery haul, looks like backbreaking work. When I do a haul like that it takes me two or three days to put everything in it's place. Much love, ❤💕 Rennie
I must say that was the neatest haul I've ever seen. I can't wait to see the pantry before and after. Oh I forgot, I DON'T HAVE WAIT I'll JUST POP RIGHT OVER TO YOUR PLAYLIST. Anyway, great video. Thanks for sharing.
If I was not prepped up and prepared I would have been in big trouble….Leaning on my preps now due to a family situation and now I am able to share❤..Of course being alone I only do small grocery hauls not to draw attention to myself😂
So smart to buy in bulk. Living in Hawaii, we always stock up because if there are any problems with shipping or air suppliers, we would be in dire straits. Thanks for showing us what you stock up on. Have a great and safe week.
@@dellawhalen3937 that is a hard question to answer. Some items will last longer than others. Tomatoes and green beans we eat them a lot. The can chicken we eat maybe one can a week. We also use this food for our cooking videos.
Hi Folks Love this video. I keep a very well stocked pantry. My favorite thing to do is grocery shop. Breakfast looked very good. Calvin kudos to you for using a spatula for scrambling eggs. Can’t stand to hear metal scraping. Marie just wanted to tell you how pretty you look with your hair up. Love the headband. ❤
You two are just so sweet! Thank you both for showing us your shopping trip. I know it takes a lot out of a person. Do you also do prepping hauls of non-edible preps? I’m pretty embarrassed at the state of my pantries right now. My daughter & grandkids just rented a place and are moving out of my home. I’ll get my house back in order and get back to stocking up. Stack it to the rafters folks! 🥫🌽🪴
Thanks very much. I had surgery 18 months ago and we had let our prepping supplies get low. We need to do some more prepping hauls again in the near future.
Watching you make that breakfast, helped me to decide what I'm having tomorrow morning as I have everything here that you used to make mine. God bless you both.
Just found your channel! Retired 68-year-old to a little hobby farm down in Missouri. Been prepping a little at a time since the Pandemic. But I am disabled and can't drive so I order all my food from Walmart and Amazon! Always have every type of canned meat !! Nice haul!!
Excellent video on stocking up on food. I really appreciate the prices of each item. I am just getting into stocking up on food and this video is the best I have seen.
That’s a good haul to fill up your pantry. You’re going to be busy putting all that up on your shelves. Food prices are out the roof. It breaks my heart knowing that people are out there struggling to buy food. Calvin, I’ve been praying about your upcoming tests. God bless you both.
Greetings from East Texas! Just found your Channel. What a wonderful Prepping Pantry stock up. Hubs and I are also Retired. Nice to see Fellow Oldsters out there trying to keep ready. Peace and Blessings
It looks like a good hall, and I like that you buy things that you eat in your everyday life. That’s smart when it comes to keeping your stock rotated like you said.🦋
You 2 are my favorite you tube channel. You both are so sweet and kind and respectful to each other and I just think it’s wonderful. You certainly show us what Christian behavior is. I hope you and Calvin have a wonderful week, Marie. Great video! Good tips, Calvin!
First time watching. My parents always had a good full pantry. Dads gone and moms a young 90. She still has her pantry! Thankyou for the reminder of different foods to get. I can’t wait to watch your cooking videos! That breakfast,I could smell the bacon.
Great pantry haul! If we hadn't been stocked up when i broke my leg last May I don't know what we would have done. We are just now getting stocked up good again.
Praise God, The video was great and my wife and I really enjoyed it. You know I hate to see the elderly people, including me and Jan having to pay these high prices on the food. I know we are all paying the prices and it's not only the food it's a lot of things. But you know, Jesus loves us and he is with us. He said I will never leave thee nor forsake you. We serve a wonderful big God. Thanks so much, we will be watching for your next video and will be praying for yall and prayers for us. We live down in Florida. God bless ❤
Thanks for taking us along we really enjoyed it …definitely a smart thing to do ..now you have your work cut out for you putting it up …God bless the both of you
New here, first impression; what a gracious couple. Nice work with sharing prices. A genuine gentleman and lady. You look healthy so that surgery must have went well. May you both have favor in God's eyes.
Thank you for this video! It is so good to have a well - stocked pantry. It cuts down on trips to the store and makes it easy to pull meals together. I look forward to your pantry tour video.
Have you given any thought about using space like under your bed, or the upper shelf in your clothes closet. If you have a storage building you can store certain items in a tote. I have toliet paper stored in my storage building and am fixing take other items out there. Heaven forbid my house was to catch on fire I don't want to feed it.
Nice haul Calvin and Marie. I’m getting ready to do the same thing. Prices are only going up. I like the 4 pack chx. Boy, you were right on the money!😂 I got one of those 5 shelf tough shelves from Walmart. Don’t have a lot of room but it holds quite a bit. Lookin for what’s cookin this week. Have a Blessed evening!🌻✨
Hi Folks! That was fun. I wondered if you clip coupons? There were about 5 items that we pay less for, everything else we pay more in Canada. God Bless, Deb p.s. Looking forward to seeing your roses you planted last year! 🌹🌹🌹
Glad to find your channel! Good tips and hope that y'all know how to use coupons to your advantage and the cycles of groceries. You can stock up when those cycles occur. Good way also. ❤
That's a great prep haul .... Your pantry is very nice and organized ..... Those were good prices, I like to prep too, I may go buy a few things myself ..... Y'all got a lot of different variety too..... Its been a beautiful day 🌞
I've been trying to stock up on canned food and water, and other things. Cause you never know what could happen. Rather would be prepared, than not. Some good deals there. 😊, I love peaches. Everything is more expensive now. Especially meat.
if able, always pick up something extra you use when on sale even if you do not need it. i was raised this way, get what you need and a lil extra to stock up when you can afford it. it helps down the road
Good evening Calvin and Marie. Wow!!! We have a small shelf with canned goods , but nothing like you have. Really never worried about prepping. We could last a week or two with things on hand, same with frozen things. Thanks for taking us along. Sending 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏.
Im glad to see someone like me. People say im crazy. Just had to buy 2 more shelving units recently. Now i have 4. Also alot of stuff in airtight totes.
Glad you noticed those dents. I know I aggravate people on the isle but I look over every can I buy and I never let them be put in bags. Somehow they always end up with dents so to make it easy I just buy a case
Thanks very much Glenda. Yes the tomatoes will make it go twice as far. Coincidence but we just finished watching your video about 15 minutes ago. Your steak looked great but neither one of us can really chew steak enough to enjoy it unless it's cubed steak. We're praying that you will feel better soon. Have a Blessed week, Calvin and Marie
Nice haul, but I couldn’t eat the majority of it because of the high sodium levels. You are blessed that you don’t have that problem. But, I do manage to find a lot of foods with either low or no sodium. Blessings to you both! ❤️
I stack by cases of 12. And stack multiple of those. These prepper haul vids often just seem like normal grocery shopping. But you guys have a good stock.
Love the video! I have to do a restock too but I have been procrastinating! I try to keep everything pretty well rotated but I am out or low on a lot of items. Dreading the price tags though!
When we order online we sometimes get bent cans as well. That is why we went inside this time. I've never had a problem with the dates being expired on can goods. Thanks very much, Calvin
God bless you both , I just found yall today . We ,myself & husband live in Montgomery County, Texas. We go to aldis alot , Do you all have an aldis by you ? As some things you can get cheaper , That touched my heart to see you shopping with your wife , I had a mad back surgery last year and caught SEPSIS, I survived But we went through alot of our pantry also , But my husband was so glad I had stocked up our pantry and some shelves In one of our extra bedrooms . I also have to use a shopping cart these days at 58 due to the surgery on my back . My husband has made our garden easier for me also ,so I can roll around our plants we put in . Yall seem like such a wonderful couple . We also go to Sam's 1x a month besides Walmart & sams . So glad I found yall . I'm looking forward to watching your other content . Mrs josette Montgomery County, Texas 🙏
Thanks very much Mrs Josette. We do have an Aldi's but it is more convenient for us to go to Walmart. We appreciate you watching our videos and we hope that you enjoy all of them. I'm 71 and Marie is 70. We are both cancer survivors. Have a Blessed week, Calvin and Marie
Hello my first time watching..I started prepping. I bought some canned green beans but they have reached their expiration date, so do I throw them out? I don't usually buy canned veggies but being new to prepping I purchased them in case of emergency. Do you use the stuff in your pantry or just stock it ? I have also purchased battery operated lanterns and a camping stove w/ gas cylinders. Hope I'm not going overboard but the way things are I want to be prepared. I read about grid outages. I'd appreciate any input from you or your community..Thank you for sharing your shopping list, I found some interesting products.
Thanks very much Teresa. We only buy food to prep that we know that we will eat. We will take the oldest can from the shelf and eat that one first. When the supply gets low, we will buy more to replace what we have used. That is what we were doing in this video. Your cans of green beans are still good for a long time after the date on them. If you're not planning to eat them then donate them to a family that can use them. Canned vegetables may not be the best for our health but in times of no food to be bought, they will keep you alive for longer.
