The orange stuff is the crab is roe or eggs. It's actually really good in fried rice. I was curious about them. Thank you for the review. If I want a quick fix I'll grab some.
I just discovered them earlier today (yesterday at this time) at my local walmart in Warrenton, Va. just like you said, i just had to try them. i do not like female crabs either. mine had one male and 3 female. it was ok but a bit stringy. i didnt use the extra season as they were plenty seasoned as they are. I emailed the company tonight to ask them to offer only male crabs or put out ONLY male crab and i would try it again. also, the name is like “pont-char-train”. its a lake in Louisiana. I had to google that to figure out where they came from. its simply a lake and the company is called “pontchartrain Blue Crabs Inc” and they have a web site, that i just found also, tonight.
Thank You, I wanna say that they were around $20 when I bought them at that time.I don't know how much they are now. I don't know if the price has changed or if it's still the same. Almost everything seems to have went up a little bit since the pandemic.
also, im commenting AS I am watching, and I chose NOT to add their seasoning as they were already super seasoned. I could see and smell it on them, and i chose to lightly boil them and saw the seasoning in the water. that was plenty and a bit salty when i went to eat them, with no extra season. Ok, im about to keep watching now. ;-)
