Never had noise problems with compressors ...hmmm ...also I know what you are saying about the blend knob ! You can really fine tune the compression you want in a way others can’t . My favorite compression pedal for straight up compression is the Ego though. Its especially great for parallel compression but I currently have the Deep six v3 since it works better for the tone I want.
I have the Walrus Audio Deep Six as well, same graphics and all. I really dig this pedal. I've only tried a few before, my second favorite compressor was the Pigtronix Philosoher's Tone Micro which is an optical compressor and was dead quiet. But in the end, i chose to keep the D6 for the tone and overall usability. I think mine started developing some sort of white noise over the years but it's still less than many others out there. It is not an always on pedal for me but when i play certain styles of music, i do enjoy having it on my board. Thanks for the video, I really like your channel and when you talk about gear, even though Im not a huge ambient guy I still work on my swells from time to time. Lâche-pas!
I own 2 of the Walrus Audio pedals and it’s a wonderful compressor and I do recommend it!! But.. I recently picked up the new Keeley Compressor Plus and I have to say, it does knock it out of the ball park compared to the Deep Six.. super quiet, level knob, blend knob, sustain knob, and a tone knob. Been playing through it and I have to say now that it’s my favorite compressor over the Walrus Audio. I strongly suggest you give it a try! Although, I love Walrus Audio gear! Haha!!🎸🎶
