'Walrus Dip' at Pembrey Country Park 26/12/2013

On a beautiful morning after some very stormy weather, the very popular Walrus Dip charity dip took place at 11.00 on Boxing Day, the 26th December 2013. The event takes place on Cefn Sidan Beach, which is part of the Pembrey Country Park in Carmarthenshire, West Wales.
We see the participants getting ready for the off at 11.00 sharp, and the large crowd that has gathered on the beach to see this Annual charity event.
Off they go in all sorts of costumes, and after a quick dip in the freezing water, quickly return to the Beach.
A big thank you to the organisers of the wonderful event, and let's hope that the charities benefit from the tremendous support from the visitors.

Shivering watching this Bob, tradition i guess? Same here today, the New Years dip in the cold sea. Also for charity and other good causes. I take my hat off to the daredevils! Great camera work as always, and all the best in 2014. Regards...John

What a great charity event...There are some very brave souls there Bob...Sea looked rough and freezing...i'm getting Hypothermia watching ...lol. Excellent upload...you did a brill job...The Panasonic coped well on the Beach too....Best wishes....S & S.

First time I've been down to see it as it's normally too wet and cold, but yesterday was quite mild, and very enjoyable compared with either side of it. The camera was superb as always, allowing me to walk smoothly through the crowds. Best wishes to you both for 2014...Bob

Ah, so that's what the Walrus Dip is! Rather them than me is all I can say Bob, you have to admire them for turning out and doing their bit for the charities. But as Alan says I think for the 2014 dip we need to see some shots from the sea!

Wow, that look's like a fun party! We have charity dip's here too but, we have to cut a hole in the ice first. It's way too cold for this old timer, haha! Well done! Rich

I see a nice time was have by all. We call it the Polar Bear Club here in the states. I've never done that, but I did lots of ice water showers when I was in basic training in the USAF. :o) lol

They are braver than me but great fun and all for good cause no doubt.Pity you hadn't got a dry box to film from Bob you could have gone in for some close up work.Happy New Year...Chris.

It was quite mild Mike, although the sea was much colder.....all equipment, including my special bits, were well protected.....:o) Bob

C'est une merveilleuse façon pour les populations locales de lever des fonds supplémentaires pour les organismes de bienfaisance Philippe.
