New York Knicks legend, NBA Hall of Famer and NBA Champion Walt Clyde Frazier waxes poetic about fellow New York Knicks legend, NBA Hall of Famer and NBA Champion Earl Monroe, who had nicknames like Black Jesus and the Pearl, jokingly says he hated him, compares guarding him to guarding other legends like Jerry West and Oscar Roberson, and more at the Earl Monroe New Renaissance Basketball Charter School in the south Bronx

On April 5, 1977, I went to see the Knicks play the Celtics @ MSG. The circus was in town and the game did not start until 9pm. The benches were rearranged because of the circus and were on the opposite side of the court, with some space behind them, and then the seats were about 15 feet behind the benches. During a timeout I walked behind the bench and tapped Earl and Clyde on the shoulder and created a lifetime memory. Monroe was the leagues greatest one on one player ever, up until his retirement.
