This is a brief history of logos that opened every Disney video and DVD.
1. Walt Disney Home Entertainment: This was an intro used to open Disney videos from 1978 to 1985. It was mostly used for featurettes like the Winnie the Pooh shorts.
2. The Classics: This intro was used as an opening for the Disney Animated Classics that were released on video from 1984 to 1987. Movies included in this series were Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio, Lady and the Tramp, Sleeping Beauty, Robin Hood and The Sword and the Stone.
3. Walt Disney Home Video: This intro was used to open various Disney videos. It started in 1986 and continued until who knows when.
4. Walt Disney Classics: This intro was used for a new series of videos that ran from 1988 to 1994. All Disney Animated Classics from the first series were rereleased in this series (except Sleeping Beauty). Also in this series was Cinderella, Bambi, The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, The Jungle Book, The Rescuers Down Under, 101 Dalmatians, The Rescuers, Beauty and the Beast, The Great Mouse Detective, Aladdin and The Fox and the Hound.
5. Walt Disney Masterpiece Collection: This was another video series where all previous classics were rereleased (including Sleeping Beauty). Also in this series were Snow White, The Aristocats, Fun and Fancy Free, Melody Time, Ichabod and Mr. Toad, and all current Animated Classics from The Lion King to Tarzan. This was used from 1994 to 1999.
6. Walt Disney Home Video: This was just a brief intro used for Disney videos in the late 90's.
7. Walt Disney Home Entertainment: This was the current logo for Walt Disney Home Entertainment. It was used from 2001 on.
8. Disney DVD: This was the original Disney DVD intro used from 2003 to 2005.
9. Disney DVD: This is what the Disney DVD intro became in 2005, and it's the current one being used as of today.

0:29 was my entire childhood. Born in 1999 and when I finally learned to talk my parents showed me the sing along song tapes. Not to mention almost every Disney movie I have on VHS had that logo. Without question my favorite logo not only from Disney, but any company.

1:15 was definitely my childhood (Born in '00) and this was at the time when there wasn't no DVD player we had an video cassette player with the Mickey Mouse tv with speaker ears lol so many childhood memories that I'll never forget

0:44 This logo was my childhood right here. I bought a VCR from one of my neighbor’s yard sales a few years ago. I had a VHS tape of The Rescuers Down Under, and this logo showed up. I never thought I’d miss seeing it. Brought back so many memories of watching the Disney Classics.

Born in 1996, the ones I remember most vividly from when I was young was the short Walt Disney Home Video in the gold letters and the one after that. Though I have watched vhs tapes with both variations of Sorcerer Mickey. I can see why people love them👍

0:28 my childhood...those old Sing Along Songs tapes. I LOVED those as a kid. Closest I felt to Disneyworld since we moved out of Florida when i was 1. I dunno. One of those triggered memories things. Plus they rocked

0:28 isn't scary, it's EPIC! This is how Mickey should be represented, just as regal and majestic as possible. This was an absolute class act from the Walt Disney Studios. That red writing, ugh! So much better than that watered down fairy castle crap that they have today. Why does EVERYTHING even remotely pertaining to modern day entertainment/Music/Pop Culture suck?

I’m with you! Always loved that logo! Although I can understand why people would be scared of it (A large skeletal silhouette of Mickey MAY be disturbing to some people) I’ve always loved how grand and majestic the fanfare music was!

Agree. I missed it when Mickey Mouse was portrayed as likable, cute, heroic, and funny. The internet portrays him as greedy and terrible which is not who Mickey is and not what Walt Disney wanted Mickey to be. Also, Disney treats Mickey more like a mascot than a character which I don’t like. Just my opinion.

Tigerguy 101 - This one and 0:44 are my childhood. I grew up with both of these, and the Disney Masterpiece Collection Logo too, because I had VHS tapes of Snow White, Dumbo and Pinocchio.

In high school I was inducted into the senior hall of fame as "born in the wrong generation" and it couldn't be more accurate. I wanna go back in time to the years of Disney at its best where you couldn't go a week without seeing advertisements for Disney movies

When I was very young which is in 1990, I still remember the 3. intro video of Walt Disney in my vhs of MANY ADVENTURES OF WINNI THE POOH, PINOCCHIO AND JUNGLE BOOK, these were the first Disney movies I watched home and after 14 years seeing the same logo made me cry and remember my childhood. LONG LIVE WALT DISNEY.

1:46 that is Disney DVD intro from 2003-2005 1:29 that's Disney intro from 2005-present and it's used today.

These all represent my whole childhood....and I am collecting most of the classic Disney DVD's for my children....I want them to have what I had and treasure the memories that I still hold to this very day of watching Disney movies. I love them too...part of me is a big kid!!!

Here are my top 4 favorites! Logo 3 - 0:28 Logo 4 - 0:42 DARK but still magical, creepy mickey music cue Logo 5 - 1:01 Logo 6 - 1:15 is ok Music in logos 3, 4 & 5 definitely sound the most exciting, the most MAGICAL & the most Disney-ish in my opinion, awesome colors & graphic designs/animations too! [Logos 3 to 6] was also an excellent Disney era too, memories of course!

Number 4 was always followed by the blue background and the castle materializing onto the screen with "When You Wish Upon a Star" playing. Not to be picky, this was a cool line-up. I just missed that part :)
