Oh the 90's, one of the best times to be a kid. TV was amazing. Staying up past bedtime and watching Zorro every midnight on Disney Channel (Vault Disney). Other shows like Rugrats, X-Men, Gargoyles, Muppet Babies, Pinky and the Brain, Hey Arnold... SOO many Playing games on my Super Nintendo. Watching Jurassic Park. Yeah music was crap but at the time it was amazing crap :')
yep on vault disney. i would stay up late and watch it all the time. my grandfather would record it on vhs for me to watch over and over again. if you still like zorro there is another tv special they showed that is called the scarecrow of romney marsh. i highly recommend it.

ZORRY!!! Zorry!! ZORRY!!! Zorry!! ZORRY!!! Zorry!! ZORRY!!! ZORRY!!! ZORRIEEEEE!!!
this was the always the first thing they showed on vault disney and I would get out my plastic sword as a kid. Zorro, the Batman for Latinos:)) it was so fun
Zorro .. the fox so cunning and free !! Zorro .. who makes the sign of the 'Zee' !! Yes indeed. I too grew up on this kind of Disney classic TV material !! What great TV series Walt was responsible for making, back in the late 1950s ; and what great memories theme-songs like this one bring back .. congrats, great posting !!
Out of the night when the full moon is bright Comes a horseman known as 'ZORRO' This bold renegade carves a 'Z' with his blade A 'Z' that stands for Zorro. Zorro, Zorro, the fox so cunning and free Zorro, Zorro, who makes the sign of the 'Z.' Zorro, Zorro, Zorro, Zorro, Zorro, Zorro, Zorro Zorro, Zorro, Zorro, Zorro, Zorro, Zorro, Zorro.
On the extended version of the theme heard in season 2 (1958-59), the "fox, so cunning and free" verse was repeated after a short instrumental solo, before going to the "Zorro, Zorro, Zorro..." finale.
Here's an additional lyric used in Sing Along Songs: He is polite, But the wicked take flight When they catch the sight of Zorro He's friend of the weak And the poor and the meek This very unique Señor Zorro
I loved! this series as a kid; heck, I'd probably still enjoy it. It's too bad it's in the vault. The dvds themselves are about one-hundred dollars a season. They should certainly consider bringing back classics such as this; they should take it out of the vault and re-produce them for a re-mastered set! Thanks for posting up the intro, it brought back some memories.
@TheRazmereShow they can get rid of those hanna montana reruns and bring back Zorro I was about 8 when I 1st saw this show on TV this and the littlest hobo(about the dog) hell they could bring back lost in space
wouldnt it be great if the disney channel would bring back vault disney late nights for an hour or so instead of the plethora of Hannah Montana and Zack &cody reruns.
I made this theme song into a ringtone for my phone. I though it was a great song then when I was a kid and I still think it is the best Zorro theme ever made, period.
I remember Disney vault we'd always hope it was Zorro that would be on. Loved this show, dressed as Zorro for Halloween. Always made my dad be the fat sergeant in swordfights

I used to watch this with my Dad when I was about 4-5 years old and boy did I love this show. This clip brought back some great old memories. I wish they would put this on again (the original episodes).

Este filme me traz lembranças inesquecíveis da minha infância, meus sínceros PARABÉNS para quem o postou...e OBRIGADO por fazer recordar-me com muita nostalgia minha doce e querida infância.
The whole series was just released on DVD in its original black and white form. Both season sets can run you about 50 each but their are deals online to get them. As a bonus, each set comes with two hour long episodes that were made after the series ended. These episodes are okay, but the half hour format worked better for this show to be honest. Check the sets out, they are 100% worth getting.
The series aired for two seasons on ABC's Thursday night schedule [8-8:30pm(et)] from 1957 through '59. Disney had planned the show as early as 1952, but told potential sponsor General Foods back then, when they insisted on a pilot episode, "We don't make samples" {Walt believed his track record as a producer was enough to convince ANYONE to buy or sponsor a TV show from him}. ABC accepted the series without one for the fall of '57, with 7-Up and AC/Delco auto parts as co-sponsors...
Reading all these comments on how you all used to watch it on Vault Disneey, I too watched it and I was a little miffed...so to speak, when they took it off. However, unlike some of you, I had the Pleasure of growing up watching the Original series on TV...way back then in the late 50's. Wish the Disney folks would bring back these shows. Guess they forgot who put them on the map.
It's been claimed that Walt Disney was born Oswaldo Cisneiros in Spain. While never proven it gives food for thought that Disney favored characters like Zorro, Elfego Baca, the Tombstone Arizona series and of course--- Ozzie Rabbit.
I'm kinda dating myself by saying this but I can remember when this would come on in the afternoon on NBC. My friends and I would sit down and regale ourselves with the tales of Old California and the legend of the Fox.
systemoperator, I saw this on the Heigh Ho sing-a-long as well!! My Mom had rented it, and I think I was around 4 or 5 years old at the time. ('89 or '90) I just recently found the tape at a flea market, and bought it - just for old time's sake. lol
