Shortest line in the park and plenty of empty seats. This is my favorite attraction. I always get goose bumps from this. Its not Disney if you don't get on this ride.
despite long lines, i find it is not disney to go there and not ride splash mountain. my favorite ride is that. i will wait the longest ever to ride it. it doesnt matter to me
Carousel of progress and small world. Classic, non-cash grabbing attractions. Space mountain is like a 2 hour wait for 4-5 minutes of excitement, same with every other ride. These are the only two where you truly capture the essence of what Disney was meant to be. Disney was meant to be for everybody to love and experience magical times with their families and friends, to meet their favourite characters from their favourite movies and have experienced with them that you can’t get anywhere else. You stay entertained the whole way through and it’s honestly a beautiful experience to go through. It’s like getting nostalgia but never having seen or heard anything like it before.
we were never promised a perfect world. where else have you lived that makes you say our country hasn't "made it?" you can buy whatever you want, do whatever you want, whenever you want, with whoever you want, think, be and move about freely. Anything more than that is up to you and you alone.
Disney could never get rid of this ride. Because this is how Walt Disney started his career. He built this attraction and took it to carnivals and would have people pay to see it. He saved up his money and soon created Disneyland and Disneyworld. Nothing has been changed on the ride everything you see on that ride is how He created it way back then. And that's what's truly fascinating. I truly hope all of you can see this ride for yourselves. It may seem like nothing but when you think about it. How could Walt Disney think of all of it. Really look at this ride. It was created in the early 1960s nothing has been changed or added. Now of course electrically, cause that has to be updated for safety precautions. But the design has never been changed, it's the way Walt Disney had first created it.
I don't think this history is right, but I share your love of the ride. The last room was redone in the 90's, and the "futuristic" VR goggles and voice activated oven are now a quaint retro vision of what the future might have been. I'm curious what that last room looked like originally...
Actually that is entirelly false. When Walt created this attraction he already had made his career (it started with oswald shorts for universal in 20'). Disneyland has opened in 1955, thats 9 years before this attraction gave it's first show, and scenes have been changed several times and even this song has been absent from 1975 all the way to 1993 (raplaced by the song the best time of your life remix is now part of area misic) also entire voice cast for the show has been changed 3 times. This attraction was also one step from beeing closed in favor of flying saucers ride for the 90' tomorrowland remodel. No hate but please stop spreading false information.
Disneyland, or Disney World would never be complete without this attraction! Walt Disney said in his own words that the Carousel of Progress will always keep going and never stop.
Matt Piavis I think they should or update it because Walt wanted the park to evolve he didn't want something to be too special to get rid of. Also the ride was about progress and something people could relate to and remember how that's how thing used to work. When it was first made it was perfect for the time being but now there are very very few living people who remember the first two scenes. They should update it so we can relate to it again and they kids can look forward to the future. The end scene is way off and people just laugh at it.
Walt had a dream. And that was the start He followed his dream with mind and heart And when it became a reality, it was a dream come true for you and me
And though Walt was a racist a man of his time you see He was also a sexist Women were not to be. For though Walt was smart Beyond his many years HIs stupidity about normal things Can bring one to tears.
My grandparents favorite attraction when they came to disney walt played such a huge part to my family unfortunately they passed away but my family still goes in memory of them and with all the great memories we have had there
The entire Carousel of Progress was built for the 1964 World's Fair, not just the song. While the building in Magic Kingdom that the attraction is housed in is new, the actual Carousel of Progress is indeed the *original* ride, which was moved after the World's Fair first to Disneyland in California and then to it's current location in 1975. The final scene, showing "modern" times, is periodically updated to reflect new technology, and is due to receive a major update next year.
This ride brings back a lot of happy childhood memories for me. Unfortunately, my wife absolutely hates this song. When she pisses me off I repeatedly text it to her. That'll learn her!
I went on this when I went to Disney before school started I didn't most of the things they were talking about I had to ask my mom about most of stuff... But it was interesting
At least they still have it at Tomorrowland Magic Kingdom! Disney shouldn’t have removed it from Disneyland! It’s a classic that Walt Disney was involved in himself!!
General Electric was responsible dor the relocation. Mainly because most people watching the show were repeated visitors and needed more people to buy their products hence why "Now is the time" was written.
When I was little and I would go to Disneyland in Anaheim California I remember this ride. It was just fun to see the changes from the early times to modern times I think it went actually to the 1970s. But still, there was always happy faces. I wish that all the people in our government in Washington DC as childish and foolish as this may seem couldn't go on that ride today or see that ride and have the song drilled into their head because the only way that anything good is ever going to come to this country as if everyone works together for a positive outcome. Instead of saying well we're going to go and do this and we're going to do that and we're not going to listen to them and this and they're all going there different ways filled with hate and discontent it would be better if everybody could just get on the same road and have a positive Journey.
@@nugget7216 Jean Shephard did the speaking voice of the character who's the lead vocal in this song, John, but since posting that comment I've discovered that the singing voice is indeed Jess.
Walt Disneys carosel of progress is a historic classic Ride that tells about our history of progress by the general electric company from the new York world's fair that needs to be saved for future generations of America in the magic kingdom
I was just on it earlier today and it was one of my favorite attractions in Magic Kingdom as a kid; the only update I noticed is that the future family seems to be playing the virtual reality game on a purchasable HDTV.
+Richard Curry so sorry to say this but La Nuba is going away at the end of this year so try to make more money if you wanna see it in real life one more time
