Plus they got reasonable compensation. I think they were helped because of the children. Disney can only help your flight wise if you arranged a package with them. But to get compensated for the two days stay is good. Your meals and transportation being covered is great. It’s a nice hotel with a pool. In addition, she handled herself respectfully which made them more inclined to assist them. If you read the fine print on your travel agreement they can cancel flights for extenuating circumstances. Who wants to fly on a defective plane? 😊

They sure were they definitely made the most out of a bad situation when it first happened. I honestly couldn’t look them in the face without bursting out in tears. I felt so guilty even now it wasn’t my fault but we eventually got there and put it all behind us, it was truly magical.

Thank you I think a lot of people was sobbing at it. To be honest it was a really sad moment for us and the reality of losing two Park days. I really wanted this video to be upbeat and really exciting but it ended up being the complete opposite but I suppose it’s good to have a mixture on RU-vid as well as I’ve never seen a video like this where peoples dream travel day has folded up and come to be a disaster!! But Luckily we have put it behind us and we’ve had a fantastic week in the park. I hope you enjoy the rest of the videos. It was a truly magical week ♥️

Yes, they should be some kind of alternative plan for their customers, but it’s a massive shame things like this of a rare to happen on the day. They normally get cancelled way in advance to prevent stuff like this, but this time was just unlucky.

@@sams_disney_life3235 we went in September after waiting 3 years to go again. Never been with Aer Lingus before but whilst we were out there we heard all kinds of horror stories about them always cancelling flights! So glad you got there in the end ☺️

Yes, they definitely did treat it like a extension to the holiday. We was fortunate that airline helped us or we would’ve seriously considered delaying the holiday to a later date.

Hi, sorry I have not seen your comment sooner. Yes it was an absolute nightmare on the day but we are very grateful we ended up going and spending the rest of the trip there. I am based in the Midlands in the UK 🥰

@@sams_disney_life3235 omg we had a nightmare with them we’d never fly with them again, our plane got cancelled about 30 minutes before we was due to board, we had to fly day later so had to stay in airport hotel. We did eventually get compensation back but it’s still annoying. I’m from Nottingham 😊

@@Sarahsparkles83 yes we got compensation didn’t take too long I was very surprised. We had probably five minutes till boarding, and that is when we was told complete nightmare confusion, and everyone was in limbo what to do. Just and us a piece of paper was not very comforting when your whole family is stood around you with suitcases, wondering what the hell you’re gonna do. The sheet of paint What you probably got as well just cause you were contact number to rebook your flight, however like most people in the airport there is no reception to ring anybody so you’re frantically trying to call to rebook the closest flight. But I simply couldn’t get in touch and ended up having to go to a flight two days later, but are so lucky. I booked direct with Disney as they was amazing. We are off to Disney again next year, but I’ve booked direct with tui and flying with them as well so I’m hoping everything goes smooth

I’m 35min way from Disney this Friday in Epcot the group boyz 2 men will be performing on stage so me and husband is so excited hope your trip doing will with the kids

Aer Lingus only did what they are obligated to do. just sayin... otherwise they would have had to rebook on an alternative airline, cost wise 2 days at a local hotel, cheap, compared to rebooking 5 passengers, just sayin... Pleased it all worked out. That EU261 compo will add up., extra spending money for next time.

@@stu314uk did you watch the video? They were the only people they booked into a hotel she said, and she literally said the aer lingus staff told her they were not meant to do that. If you watched, they were offered 2 days later, and eventually got on a Virgin flight 2 days later. Did you even watch the video??? I was simply saying careful what you say on videos especially when you said the staff said they shouldn’t be doing it but did It anyway. Jeeez

The hotel stay is nothing exceptional, as they weren't rebooked the same day the airline has a duty of care. There is no "secret" to spill, no one is going to get into trouble. The fact this airline encouraged passengers to go home, and they did, shows how most passengers don't know their rights, or choose, to return home. The airline did nothing special, in fact it saved a small fortune.

They will say they're not meant to do it which Is a load of rubbish. They just want to look like they're doing something. They wouldn't want her to go tell the other 200 people on the flight so to not have to do it for everyone. Its quite obvious. No secret there .
