So in other words, society has been more successful at putting people on the moon and objects on Mars than it has at "leveling the playing field." Conclusion is that the world isn't a level playing field and any attempt to make it level is bound to do more harm----overwhelmingly more likely to do harm----than do good.
What's not covered in this presentation (and for good reasons) is the argument as to why income inequality is inherently detrimental for the society as a whole. I think it isn't as long as the hierarchy in the economic pyramid is predicated upon meritocracy and not on crony relations with the state. So, vote for less state power and regulations and let the "LeBron James's" of capitalism do all the work for creating wealth and add value for all of us. Every person has talents and some persons, more than others, have a talent for creating additional wealth. Trickle down economics certainly work. If it didn't we wouldn't be here on various devices, exchanging opinions instantly and with minimal cost. This is an unthinkable scenario even for billionaires of 2-3 decades ago. Income inequality isn't a problem in itself, it's the lack of freedom to pursue your individual talents and aspirations that plague the world's societies.
