I have the LGU Hunter I bought 6-7 years ago just before they we're discontinued as everyone went PCP crazy. I liked it so much I bought a Walther LVG Competition Ultra in .177. I don't shoot the LGU as much as the LGV, but after today I'll be shooting shooting it a lot more. Took the scope off the LGV to swap scopes around on 3 other guns a few months ago and forgot what was going where. I grabbed a scope with rings on it and the LGV to go test out some .177 pellets. Took my Gamo Swarm magnum in .177 also and grabbed my LGU because I wanted to shoot it some. I put the scope on the LGV and for some reason it was shooting 16 inches high at 25 yards so knew something was wrong with the scope/mounts. Put the LGV away and picked up the LGU. I was out of practice at first but after about 40 shoots I was getting back in the grove. Shots touching and through the same hole at 25 yards. Then I knuckled down and put 5 shots through the same hole at 25 yards. I decided that was a good place to stop, grab some photos and pack it up. My LGU has more buzz than I like and more than my LGV, but with it shooting like that I'll live with the buzz. Same with the LGV. These guns rival my PCP's and I'm afraid to change anything. Walther should have never stopped making the The LGU and LGV. They pushed my HW97K back into 3rd favorite. I doubt a TX200 or Pro Sport would edge these out of my 1st and 2nd favorites. People don't know what they missed in these Walther's. Didn't help that they needed after market triggers here in the US. I put a Rowan on my LGV and found a factory 2 stage trigger like they had overseas on ebay for the LGU.
Can you tell me, the Vortek kit normally comes with its own spring guide and top hat. The Walther has the guide sat in the trigger housing. What did you do? Remove the Walther guide or remove the Vortek guide?
