I purchased the Girsan MC14 G85 for $292 (before shipping, taxes, and FFL) yesterday (29 March 2024) after three days of price research (gun.deals). Regarding mags, this is from the EAA website: "The Girsan MC14G84 shares magazine compatibility with the traditional MC14 pistol, the newly announced Girsan MC14BDA, as well as similar 84 series (Beretta) magazines." I bought two 13 round Mec-Gar mags from GunMag Warehouse for $21.99 each before tax and shipping. No design theft by EAA/Girsan as was suggested in one of the comments. EAA obtains permission to produce versions under license from manufacturers and/or as patents expire (think Glock clones and SAR, IWI, Tanfoglio CZ clones) EAA and its suppliers/partners are free to use the original designs.

The Browning BDA was actually manufactured by Beretta and I have one in blue and a companion Beretta I belive it is a Model 81 in 32ACP I installed a spare BDA barrel in 380 in the Bretta and I can switch magazines back and forth between the 2 guns. I may have to get one of these Girsans as they have corrected the only complaint I have with the BDA, the slide mounted safety. I much prefer the frame mounted safety like on my Beretta.

It's a tough choice. I like the extra capacity of the Girsan and it appears to be cheaper. But the cost difference shrinks with the extra mag with the Walther. In all honesty, I'd have to see how they felt in my hand before choosing.

Yeap , the main issue with the Walther is the safety catch on the slide , donot like that design , seen a friend & others activate the safety by mistake when racking the slide of Beretta 92F .Look mag cap is not that much of a issue for me , I would like to know how the recoil is between them , as one the Girsan is blowback & the Walther appears to be a locked/tilting barrel . I like the control layout more on the Girsan , would like Girsan to make a steel or alloy copy of Beretta M70 .22lr but double action , that would be a awesome pocket gun .

I am a Walther fan for sure, but that offering needs to be updated to today's demands as others have noted. Should be at least 12 rds. w/ 15 rd. available. Not sure what they were thinking with no slide stop. I really like the paddle mag release. I wish that was available on all Walther pew pews... HK offers button ad paddle... options are nice.

For the size of the pistol and the target audience, it’s a win. It’s a single stack pistol for mag reduced states that having a slightly smaller pistol is needed. It’s like this, if I’m going to Idaho, I carry whatever large pistol I want. If I print, no one cares. WA, that’s a state you do not wanna print. How big is too much to print? The walther pd380 is almost the same size as the steyr m9a2. Width is no comparison at all. I can carry this easily with no print and a normal t shirt. The steyr on the other hand sticks out. For the walthers price, features, and size, it’s a home run. Need 12 rounds of 9mm maybe the FN reflex would be worth look good into for you. $99 more than the pd380. Me however, the thin of the walther and 3.7” barrel is its selling point. That and DA/SA with an easy to access safety. The main thing that sets the walther apart is the mag release. I love European paddle releases. Harder to accidentally hit the mag. I had a shield that I shaved the mag release down by millimeters cause it kept dropping mags in public. Same with extended Glock mag releases. If I have a used glock with an extended mag release, that goes sooner than the trashy sights. Walther pds sights are steel and adjustable. That’s a bonus for a $399 pistol.

I got the Girsan MC14 BDA after seeing your first video on this, and I couldn't be happier. Great accuracy and reliability. I have not tried the Walther, mainly because I don't like it's looks, and there's no point in me trying something I wouldn't enjoy carrying. Walter PPK? Sure, but the PD380 is definitely not worthy of Mr. Bond, in terms of aesthetics.

Neither. For some reason, neither of them could put a hammer drop safety on a DA/SA hammer fired handgun. 🤪 Even though it's been done for 85 years (and Walther was the first to do it!) It's like losing the recipe for ice cubes! These handguns are accidents waiting to happen and they won't have to wait long. NEITHER of them needs a safety at all....just a hammer drop feature. But if they insist on a safety on a DA/SA hammer fired semi-auto...make it a hammer drop type. Good grief! I would imagine the Girsan mags will work the Browning BDA and also the Beretta Model 85.

Walther PD380 as it has a decock lever. That said, the Girsan MC 14T is better than either for cripples as it has a tip up barrel for loading which also allows you to safety decock it with a round in the chamber despite not having a decock lever. If I could own any .380 for defensive use (I much prefer 9mm) it would be a Beretta 84FS Cheetah which has a 13 round mag and a frame mounted decock/safety lever. I also like that you can carry it hammer down with the safety engaged which also locks the slide. I also like how it looks and feels.

Hey there Fire Arm Guy, I have been trying to find a Girsan MC14 BDA and it is nowhere to be found, but in researching th UPC code it comes up to the same thing as the Girsan MC14G84, what do you think am I correct?
@TheFirearmGuy
@TheFirearmGuy 4 месяца назад
Front the Girsan site. The MC14G84 has an open-top slide design that echoes classic Beretta handguns. The rear sight is drift-adjustable, the front post is forged integral to the slide and the same three-dot system is employed. Both the MC14BDA and MC14G84 are available in either an all black (MSRP $360) or two-toned Cerakote finish (MSRP $381). For more information, visit eaacorp.com.
