Funny village cricket - Our second game after a rain draw last week vs Quorn. After relegation can we improve enough to get back into the promised land of division 5!
Surely given this pitch is not legal within the laws of the game, an appeal regardless of result should mean they are automatically defaulted, & result goes to you. Good to see these videos back bison, entertaining my winter here down under, while i ponder my lack of performance during the last summer 😂
I need to come and watch a game this season. 8 hours of an adrenaline rush no doubt! Glad to see this back. I feel like it captures everything I used to see but without needing to give up the whole saturday to re-live it 😂
Great to have you back Carl. Good start to the season even though you came up a couple short. Recognise most of the crew, but have a few left, and any new players joining the fun. Really enjoyed that mate...thanks
Very few people will understand the sheer glory of this entire game. Most will point to the events at the Oval and say that is what cricket is all about (and let's face it Stuart Broad hitting a 6 off the last ball he faced in test cricket and then taking the wicket to win the game WAS pretty special!) BUT the entire farce of your game and the fact that 22 grown men still played with passion is what makes the game great! For it all to be topped by the injustice of the donkey award was fitting 😂 Thank you gentlemen!
Can’t tell you how happy I was to see that you’d posted a video today, I’m not playing cricket until June this year due to gcse’s so for now I look forward to watching other people’s matches
so good to see you back. Your channel is by far the best Cricket channel because its always fantastic to watch due to the fact you never know whats going to happen. Looking forward to the rest of the season!
Winstanley college. What a doghole, so glad my playing days are over. Standard so poor today.. remember the old senior league days, great quality great wickets great beer. Not any more…
Waiting for our first match of summer here in Canada, great video as always mate. Temps running high in the opposition there! Hardly anyones fault if there's no league umpires for lower divisions.
You are correct Carl, the laws have changed. Only the standing umpire can give no balls on height, no longer square leg. I had to pass exams to know that…
Top video! looking forward to more! Well done to you guys for keeping you cool with the no ball controversy, I really don't like playing teams like that.
Not a fan at all of the screaming, shouting and hollering towards the end of the innings. Not to mention the massively over the top reaction to the no ball. It’s supposed to be a gentleman’s game, chaps.
I've seen this in a number of your videos, but in your league the batters seem to go out of their way to run down the middle of the wicket and the fielding side never seem to say a word about it.
Not here for the result (possibly) but here for the odd witty comment, the odd touch of brilliance and a fair amount of calamity. Nice to see you back. Think you'll be winners on a longer track😮
Square leg umpire can only give an indication that it was a waist high full toss, ultimately the central umpire has the decision to indicate no ball for height or not…
You couldn't script this. Wicket too short. Epic failure to take catches. Last time I saw an outfield like that my cows were going out to graze on it. Bison, was it your home ground that planned a picket fence on the boundary? Good to have you back mate.👍😘
Game should have been stopped the second the pitch is too short. It’s dangerous Interesting to see what the ecb would have to say to the league if they saw this
Biggest pet peeve about club cricket is people complaining the players umpiring are unfair - its meant to be fun lads, amd if we were always right we wouldnt be umpiring village cricket! 😂
What can I say - great to see you back but that pitch length is disgraceful and an unfair advantage to the team who regularly use it. I know it is lower levels but it must be a league issue surely?
@@thecricketingbison6418 hahaha love your content mate I play for a low division team in Tasmania too. you guys share the same love for cricket even if you lose most games like us 😜
Don't know which league you're in but putting out a junior pitch isn't really on anywhere. They should face a points punishment at least. We'd be asking for a concession and full points.
The game should have been called nil and void as the playing surface did not confirm to the MCC rules and just a heads up regarding the No ball you gave, under the new laws it’s the standing umpire only that can give a No ball, the Squareleg umpire has no say at all regarding No Balls regarding what height the ball has been bowled, anyway glad to see you back Bison and best of luck for the new season.😀
The ultimate decision as to whether to call NB is down to the bowler's end, but the SL umpire can be consulted - e.g. when the BE umpire's view is obscured. FWIW, that ball didn't look like it was above waist height to me and the subsequent R/O appeal was justified as you can be R/O off a NB and it was just out, but prob impossible to tell w/o a 3rd umpire.
You lost there is no losing draw in your league as you play win/ lose cricket Also funny how poor umpiring from your side is just to close to call when you called every team last year cheats seems like double standards
Why isnt anyone surprised by the antics going on there, puts off so many people playing the game. The guy in red hat chucking it from the far end was a disgrace. Pitch being short is just embarrassing, only decent thing on that surface was when someone was bowled they were really bowlee wirh the stunp lying flat lol
the guy impersonating a statue at mid off or the guy who dropped 2 caught and bowled should have won the donkey award ... i have never seen a more excitable team than your opponents considering the very low standard of cricket being played
