Very sweet - a pretty demonstration of microfluidics and light as well as, to some extent, the topology on a sphere (with the alignment defects). I had a mostly theoretical question slightly related to this video, by the way: Would it be possible to vary the contents of the water jet slightly to create bubbles with different contents? My main reason for asking this was out of curiosity, whether or not it would be possible to run a tiny PCR inside a microfluidic bubble. The bubbles could travel through a long channel that ramps them through the necessary temperature gradients to perform the PCR, with all the necessary reactants and the substance to test already inside the bubble. If a test with a fluorescent dye marker is used, detecting which bubbles contained the target gene sequences would be doable with a simple camera detector. If this were possible, perhaps one could create a device that uses microfluidic bubbles to run a large number of PCR-Tests for, say, the detection of a virus, in an automated form. Patient samples could be injected into some bubbles, then a "gap" marker that is clearly detectable (perhaps a different fluorescent dye in the microfluidic bubbles), and then another sample right after that. This was just on my mind, and I thought maybe you could say whether or not something like this might be possible.

Still a bit confused on what causes these defects I also wonder if they can be taken advantage of in some way, especially with just on in the center
