I saw what she said and it inspired me to push this out on social media: I am addressing this to my fellow white Americans. What is happening is a result of our apathy towards our fellow African American citizens. We haven’t been our brother's keeper. Now is our opportunity to change. If you listen to what African Americans are asking, they are asking that we get into action. Whatever our feelings are, anger, sadness, sympathy, etc. are meaningless without action. A FB post isn’t action, a black IG square isn’t action. It is showing others your feelings, providing solidarity to like-minded friends, but won’t change anything. Some of us have more time than money, some of us have more money than time. We all have something to give. For example, if you are outraged that a small business has been destroyed by looting, find out who the owner is, see what you can do to help that business get things put together. Maybe they didn’t have adequate insurance, start a Go-Fund-Me campaign for them. Maybe they have insurance but need help cleaning up the mess. For example, if you are unhappy with the current leadership in your town, state, or country, get involved in the campaigns of those you want to see in place. Donate money or donate time to a phone bank. Volunteer for voting registration. Not sure what to do? Research your local Urban League, Religious community, Untied Way, local library system. “Be the change you want to see in the world”-Gandhi

Yes it is a beautiful thing and has been a long time coming, but I still struggle with and question why there isn't the same level of outrage when night after night, daytime, anytime we are murdering our on at alarming rates depending on where you reside. Where is the outrage and protest against us on us murders? Black Lives Matter no matter who the taker of it is. Hold the "them" accountable? why not ourselves too. I'm just saying for REAL though

Australia should Implement UNDRIP and tell the world how you are doing it. You were one of the last 4 to sign on to UNDRIP along with Canada, New Zealand and the US. The 4 of you need to take action on UNDRIP and imlement it into your laws. Marches are good , but we have been there done that. Now is the time to implement UNDRIP.

Except about the metric system. Nothing is simpler than the metric system. You drive your car at km/h, you fill 'er up with litres, you come home and bake a cake with ml and grams. Every it's times ten and times ten again. YOu have ten fingers, get on with it. Liberate yourselves and throw away your 1/4 cups and half teaspoons and sticks of butter , bushels of fries. If you can calculate sales tax and tips with a percentage, well that's the metric system. Your kids have got it, your teenagers have got it, get with the programme (note spelling).

All my respect to Ms. Sykes, always. Thank you, Jimmy, too. Here in El Paso ,the vast majority of demonstrators are Mexican American, plus White and Black folks, too. It is a beautiful thing to see that they are so young and sincere. Sadly, our chief of police is a Black man who has called BLM a terrorist group. All our law enforcement forces are heavily militarized, and many are violent and careless. The tear gas even filled houses in the neighborhood, including my own. Some EPPD officers took a knee in respect early the first evening. But a few hours later things got out of hand. Any way, let me reiterate my respect and thanks.
