I dream of Jeannie. Was the show you were thinking of it was a mix of the two but it was meant to be bewitched because yeah she's a witch 1st two definitely confusing i was mad af at 1st IT GETS SO MUCH BETTER SO MANY OMGS MOMENTS.
I'm one of those who appreciates that the show takes it time (so to speak). I didn't know exactly where the show was going -- though the promos gave significant glimpses. I guess I had enough faith in the creators that I felt comfortable sitting back and enjoying the ride. I also enjoy the week delays between most episodes for us all to process and speculate.
@@mconnaghan Being honest, i was on board since the start, episode 2 was my favorite of the two when it first came out, i understand some of the complains, like the show being slow and without direction in the firsts episodes because of the mystery, but as i see it, it was something episodic and nice to make us get used to the sitcom part. Completely agree, one episode for week was a smart move, give us time to digest everything and when the show ends, we can binge watch like some wanted from the start.
Just hang in there, there was a lot of people that were iffy on it in the first few episodes(although I loved Nick at Nite), and gave up. It's definitely slow at first, but it picks up and now whenever the episodes end I get sooo bummed out lmao. Also make sure Nikki keeps her meticulous notes, there's a lot of stuff you gotta pay attention for. By episode 3-5 you'll be all in. I CAN'T wait for the last two
Indeed! They gave the press reviewers the first three episodes; presumably someone at Marvel Studios realized not everybody would latch onto the early sitcom stuff. It will pick up, I promise!

The attention to details in this show, from the music to the sitcom styles, is amazing! All will be revealed in time, there is a reason for every single thing on the screen. Hang in there and enjoy the ride!

Yes, this episode was very much modeled after "I Love Lucy" and "The Dick Van Dyke Show". Also, This is your first experience with the "Please Stand By" Screen. You will grow to hate that screen when the episode ends.
When I first saw this episode, I was like, WTF was that?? ..... Seeing it again now, after having seen the next 6 episodes, it’s like a whole new experience! :) You guys are gonna LOVE this show. Trust us.
Random note: The music is done by a songwriting couple, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. They also did Frozen and Coco! And their command of different music really enhances this series.

I'm at 3:00 minutes, and I just want to say this. I have been loving the entire series. But in case you guys end up not liking episode 1, understand that there are a lot of people who didn't totally ramp up until episode 3 and 4. No spoilers. Just I want you to keep that in mind, because I love your reactions. It's wonderful...
Yeah I think if you really couldn't get into the first episode I'd recommend people start at 3, watch til 5, then go back to 1 and 2. But i loved the series from the first episode

You guys already stacked a lot of eps. It makes the watch less painful cause there's no waiting anymore. The show is awesome. Also rewatching this with your reactions make me see things in a new perspective.
Probably want to watch the first 3 episodes together, they actually released them together for a reason :). Basically think of the show as a 6hr (Mystery) movie. Episodes 1-3 are literally Act I.
Hehe I love the confuse faces. This show is a real slow burn but it is super worth it. The primary (but not only of course) inspo for this episode was I Love Lucy. On top of being super on point with the script and acting to emulate old sitcoms, they filmed 1950s era appropriate cameras and lighting and in front of a live audience to make it super authentic. I remember trying to get my family to watch this 🤣 they were not interested at all after the first episode but I kept telling them it gets better and after a while they finally agreed to continue and now they’re as invested in it as me 🤣🤣
After seeing what happens later, it makes me realize how important the slow build up is. The world building and tension building of this eerie world is so important to all the pay offs to come.
The first episode is in the style of "I Love Lucy" and "The Dick VanDyke" show. Keep watching and see what they do. According to MCU lore, Natasha Romanoff helped Wanda learn English by watching sit-coms through the ages. If it is not seen as a spoiler, the next episode comes from the 1950s to the 1960s and more along the lines of "I Dream of Jeanie" and "Bewitched."
Loved your reaction at the end. It was the exact same thing that happened to me. That last scene and the scene where the boss was choking was strange, but the end created a feeling of being slightly unhinged.
This show is a mind bender!!! Patience is the key to this. I think you will be pleasantly surprised- and the show in question that you were looking for is Bewitched 😁

I love that you guys are so clueless! Every other reactor I’ve watched has known so much outside & rumoured knowledge about the show and has had insight into what’s going on or heard spoilers, but you guys are so fresh to it. This is gonna be great!
The intro was based on both Bewitched and The Dick Van Dyke Show. Don't ignore the commercials. Every commercial has a meaning and connection to Wanda. It was announced prior to the show's premiere that it takes place directly after Tony Stark's funercal, so after Endgame. the first 3 episodes are a little hard to get into. but stick with the show, ep 4 is where it will finally kick in. also continue to stay through the credits, can't remember what episode it was but there will be mid credits scene at some point and probably another one sometime after. there's going to be a lot of surprises so you will be in for a ride.
I know almost nothing about MCU and I'm loving this show. I loved nick at nite and all the old sitcoms. My mom loved so many of them. So I personally loved all this. 2nd episode really cracked me up.
Hahahaha After binging it up to ep6, it's great to go back to ep1 and an additional plus to see your "WTH" reactions! It's so great how everything unfolds.
Stay with it! I felt the same way after epi 1, but that's the point. It's clever and funny! Elizabeth Olsen and Katherine Hahn's performances are stellar!
I was the same way, the first episode. 😜. Their theme basically goes to new parody of decades t.v. show. Each episode goes a decade further. It gets better I promise, just keep an open mind. Luv you guys.
My first thought was that they are living inside the soul stone after the events of Infinity War, but after that reveal of the person watching them on TV, I just threw that theory out the window.
My mom had the same small TV when I was a kid: Black & White with the dial that went to 13. I was always super excited to go to grandma's cause she had a color TV with Cable. lol. We didn't get our own color TV until I was about 8 or 9?
It helps to watch WandaVision Easter Egg/Theories videos on RU-vid...at least, it helped me to appreciate all the subtleties, nuances, and potential clues
I really enjoy your guys content. You guys are really confused after the first episode but it will all come together eventually, I have a suggestion after each episode just right down your questions or take notes and over the course of the series see which ones get answered. Every thought or question that you have voiced has been answered during the series, including timelines and everything!!!!!!!!!! It's a wild ride.

They dropped the first 2 eps together which was great thinking on their part because the wtf moments from the next one definitely make you want to find out what’s going on.
It's a slow start, but DEFINITELY worth it! It's building to something big, I'm absolutely certain! Also, the format here reminded me of I Love Lucy/ Dick Van Dyke, and other shows of that era.
The first three episodes are definitely kinda for people familiar with the comics so don't be too worried if you miss stuff or if it doesn't make sense. Just enjoy the ride. And yes and no to it being a stand alone. It's supposed to be the prologue to phase 4
