Wander being Sick of Lord Dominator for ≃3½ minutes straight 

YEAH, it's been confirmed that the reason she makes him so mad in the S2 premiere is because she ignores him! Outside of that, however, I think what ticks him off progressively becomes _everything_ about her, since she plays the _"lol I'm ignoring you"_ card less and less over the course of the season. She does very horrible things and lives to have an aggravating personality... I think it very much gets to him, which is fascinating, because Wander is typically the type to be above these kinds of things, but she's too serious a villain to be treated that way.

Hater is just a comedic villain, someone who can change but is too stubborn and stupid to do it. While Dominator is evil, she enjoys being evil because it's fun for her

Not at all, it really does show he isn’t as perfect as some may see him, even the happiest people in the world have their strokes of grief and turmoil, and the writers of this show really showed that in Wander in such an elegant and graceful way.

Yes it is, you basically just make another generic main character because he really isnt emotionally flawed his main trait is that he will go to insane lengths to be the nicest person ever even against Lord Dominator like the time he gave lord haters love letter to dominator even knowing he'd die if they were a team, his best aspect is he is emotionally well put together and that adds to his platonic relationship with Sylvia.

@makobashiir2482 Wander has a lot of emotional intelligence and optimism, but he isn't without flaws. Sometimes idealism _is_ his fatal flaw, which season 2 explored heavily during the Dominator arc! The fact that he gets upset sometimes doesn't make him generic, it makes him multidimensional. (Compare it to how Hater will sometimes be super into something and express childlike joy or whimsy over it instead of just hating!) It's the "why" and "how" he gets upset that makes it interesting and adds to his depths, unlike, _"he just gets upset like anyone else would",_ which _would_ be typical and lame like you say. He's an amazing main character because he *is* very emotionally healthy overall, and he's impossibly kind, mature, and positive in ways we would all love to be, but as impossible an ideal he embodies, the fact that he still has his struggles and challenges is what makes him all the more down to earth (and maybe even relatable) at the end of the day! ❤️

Wander being capable of breaking shows he's not unstoppable or like say, SpongeBob, the sea sponge who almost seems malicious under his unwavering happy. Wander is a genuine soul who has limits, and what makes it interesting is how that can really hurt not only him but the ones he cares about. His involvement almost joined two evils together and when it didn't work out, broke a studly skull muffins heart. Hell it almost broke Wander himself. To see him get hurt on an emotional level also just allows us to know some new things about Wander, amplifying his need for helping because of his own helplessness. The fact that he's not perfect helps him out a lot.

He does get angry, he just doesn't let it overtake him. His ability to forgive is incredible :'> I really hope he learns to stop giving Dominator chances like that; it's not bad of him to not want to be her friend. He can be kind to her without offering her a place in his life to abuse him from

Wander may have a bleeding heart, but his desire to help really is his best attribute yet biggest downfall. All Dom would be is like a toxin to his way of life. What's scary is knowing that she's not even the worst he'd come across if season 3 happened.

He has a lot of idealism and denial to work through _(that she actively makes worse bc the mere concept of the kinda horrors she inflicts are so difficult to cope with)_

Half the reason she's so powerful is because she's crafty and intelligent! 😲 She keeps herself several steps ahead of everyone else and preps for things to the point that it makes her every move seem effortless despite the fact that she actually works really hard to get herself to where she is. (The crew wasn't able to come up with an episode that really went into this, but it's still implied in a bunch of her scenes.) *She's like if Lord Hater were good enough at his **_and_** Peepers' jobs for him to not need the commander.* Her self-sufficiency feeds right into her greatest weakness, though: _she who needs nobody is really the person who needs other people the most._ She's as monstrous as she is because she lives entirely for herself, and she's going to stay that alone for as long as she's like this. _And the best part is that there's no reason to feel _*_any_*_ sympathy for her aloneness because it's _*_purely_*_ the result of how destructive and evil she is!_

I appreciate you taking the time to comment on my thoughts and not just instantly breeze past them. I recognize I tend to come off as if I'm taking a hard stance, when really I just like talking lol. But yeah, I think I absolutely agree...to like a certain extent. I always read her as more of a "everything comes easy to me" sorta character. I'm actually currently in the process of re-watching the series because I came across your videos and realized that maybe my old opinions don't make since with a fresh perspective.

Honestly, I think that's at least part of what they were going for with her character? That she really _seems_ like everything comes naturally to her, that is. Only when you get a closer look at how she operates can you realize how methodical and laser-focused her goals really are, and the writers have spoken about how they had _planned_ to have an episode that would have shown us that, but it ultimately never came to be because the plot of it would have run counter to the resolutions of some of the earlier episodes in the season (in other words, the lesson would have been redundant to the point that the conflict that would've kickstarted the episode wouldn't make sense to have happen in the first place), so we never got to see any major examples of how strategic and well-prepared she is. We only got to see the results of her being that way and some smaller examples of / allusions to it here and there, and that's about it. It's a shame, but at least they didn't get rid of the concept, so it's still a really cool thing to get to analyze when it comes to her character and how she ticks! Rewatching the show with a fresher perspective on her sounds *_awesome._* If you can, I also recommend looking through the show's story editor's and supervising producer's tumblr blogs for posts about her. Getting personal reads on her confirmed or more fleshed out by looking to the crew for fun insights on her was a _major_ highlight of getting into the show and her character for me! It's just super neat to get to dive into that trivia if that's your thing! Yeah, a friend who'd accept her love for extreme evil and destruction!! :'D ...But no such a person exists bc, even if she weren't the most extreme villain out there in this universe, she's way too abusive to people for anyone to ever wanna be/stay her friend no matter how much they have in common. She treats people too horribly. It's like Dave Thomas said, her loneliness is the natural result of destroying & harming everything that surrounds her. I love that you pointed out the heart symbolism with her, because I always liked that one line Wander sings in My Fair Hatey, _"There's heart inside that scary armor!"_ Because of how it's wrong. The heart is _ON_ the armor. The evil villain thing is everything she loves.

I don't think you're the only one who headcanons that her... way of being... can be pathologized, no ^-^ If that's the case with her, I'm not sure I'd use "suffers" to describe it, ahah

To be completely fair, most everyone (if not everyone) else in the woy universe is capable of redemption. That's the show's formula. Wander has been at this for such a long time that he knows that distracting villains from villainy instead of simply fighting them has the best chance of redeeming galactic terrors. In most other cases he's dealt with, they eventually start coming around to his weird, goofy friendliness and liking the fact that he sincerely just wants to be nice to them and be their friend. (This is largely because the villains in this show are typically villains in order to compensate for some insecurity or other kind of pain they have buried deep down.) Lord Dominator was created to be the exact opposite of that. She doesn't follow any the show's established formula. She isn't evil because she's lonely or insecure or for any other kind of angsty reason, she's violent and hard-core in a genuinely threatening way instead of a more cartoon-villain way, she's laser-focused on her evildoing, and... ironically... just can't be turned to good because she is to evildoing what Wander is to doing good. She does what she does for the sheer love of it. You just can't turn people away from being passionate about what they're naturally passionate about. And Wander's never encountered anything like that. _Nobody has._ (No wonder her evilness makes her so lonely, she's the only one in the whole universe who's _like this!)_

@@engineer_comeback If you haven't noticed, Dominator isn't *_allowed_* to do anything. She just _does,_ and she's largely unstoppable at what she does. They've been trying to stop her from destroying planets all along, Wander's methods are just really unorthodox and, against _her,_ totally useless.

Iirc, they're two characters the writers don't plan on giving a solid backstory to. They'd briefly discussed ideas for Lord Dominator's, but the only thing that was important (bc it was a constant) is that she has nothing tragic in her past whatsoever. Other than that, they don't think they want to explore one with her, because they believe that too much backstory has a way of ruining characters. (It gets rid of mystique and takes away from how much you can have fun imagining up yourself, as the viewer.) They feel strongly that who a character is now is more important that whatever they used to be. The version they are now is the one going through the cool and interesting story, after all. I think they feel like this about Wander the most because he's shrouded in crazy amounts of mystery to the point that Craig's said that even _he_ doesn't know things like his real name or anything like that 😳 -HATER, ON THE OTHER HAND, WE WERE GONNA GET BACKSTORY ON AND THAT MAKES ME CRAZY.
