Got mine back in August. Great bag. Loved it so much I picked up the 6l as well for edc. Great review. I shoot a Fuji xh2s. Fits perfectly in both bags.
Update: I was finally able to buy a 6 L and a 9 L Roam sling bag in 2023. I chose the tan colorway because it reminds me of the color and type of bag you'd take out on a jungle safari, and it has a lighter color inside. It would be easier to find in the dark, unless I set it down on the beach, lol. It's a cool bag, and should keep my camera gear dry and protected to some degree. It's funny that Wandrd changed the name to Rogue, lol. I like the name Roam better, because that's generally what I do, lol.
I’m currently on my second Lowepro Flipside 500AW. My friends and I ruck on a regular basis so carrying heavy stuff is “fun” for me. For now. Holds my fav Nikon and Fuji gear pretty well for a hike or street photo ruck, but sometimes I still dream of something a little bigger!
Love your content, was wondering if you would give an update on your use of the wndrd 9l and if the size is comfortable for daily use/ street photography?
I still love it. It’s the largest sling they have, and it carries everything I need including my travel tripod when necessary. It’s very comfortable for me.
Enjoyed the review Tim. I have an Amazon Basics Sling Bag that I use for quick trips. Also run with the Lowepro 400 AW (I believe that was it in your video. I use the Lowepro for Waterfall and Landscape trips.
Nice looking bag. I still carry my Lowpro Prorunner 200AW that I have had since around 2011. Got it signed by the amazing Lauren Coakley! It's a little small but sometimes that's good. One reason I love the 100-500 is it will fit in that bag. With the Nikon 200-500 or the Canon 800 f/11 I have to carry the Prorunner 300 AW. The 300 is a little bigger which is fine in the woods I guess but not so good at a music venue or a theme park. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on your PD Tripod.
I love Lauren Coakley!!!! :). I’m afraid the 800 f 11 wouldn’t work well in this bag. LOL. I’ll be doing a review on the tripod after I’ve used it a bit more.
I purchased the pro runner 200 after seeing Phil’s videos on it. I had to find it used since they no longer make it. It’s a great bag for travel and everyday.
Looking for this bag also. One thing I noticed about your review said the left or right hand version, the clip in the shoulder strap comes out and you can flip it around and it can be used for the opposite side. I'm guessing wandrd is updating the bag. They already sell waist straps which are very comfortable but the Sling is not compatible to them hopefully they add loops to use the more comfortable straps. Reviewers are saying the current waist strap is too flimsy for the amount of weight it can carry.
Thanks for watching! I didn’t get the waist strap for that very reason. I’m still very happy with the bag. However, I have noticed that the main shoulder strap loosens over time, leaving the bag riding lower on your back. I am continually adjusting it.
Dear Tim, great video and review. I am wondering if you'd be able to provide some insight as I am looking to purchase this bag. Looking for a "urban street photography day pack". I usually carry an extra lens with me and I shoot with a Fuji X-T4. I also like to store my wallet/mobile phone/keys in the bag while I am shooting. Would you think the 9L bag might be a bit "too clunky/big" for my purpose? I already have a Shimoda Action X as my carry all bag, so this potential purchase is for convenience and a lighter load. Any suggestions would help. Also, this bag looks like a perfect size on you. Would you mind sharing how tall you are? Just want to get a perspective. Again, great video and thanks for any tips you may have.
Thank you! I just checked as well. It appears they are currently out of stock. Not sure if this is continued supply chain issues or not. Hopefully it is resolved soon. I would love to get the laptop accessory case for travel. Also unavailable. :(
@@TimChilders Thanks for your reply Tim. Hopefully the Roam sling will be available sometime this summer. I own the Prvke 21 L backpack and am really impressed with the build quality and features, but like yourself also needed a sling when I don't need to carry quite so much. So I watched reviews about Wandrd's Roam sling and decided it would fit the bill. Thanks for your review. Cheers! ☺
