I have had the pleasure of seeing 惘闻 live twice, and their live presence is truly remarkable. I'm so glad I came across them at those music festivals, because now I have a new favorite Chinese band!
Personally think the best post rock band from China. The leader and all of the members put their passion and heart in every pieces of work. The leader of the band is a good story teller, tells along with the atmosphere.
I really enjoy this song, can you recommend others that you've liked? My favorite post rock band from china is Zhaoze, favorite song 4th mov, or The Metamorphosis
Emotions turned into music... first heard this the day this video was uploaded, it brings back so many memories of my last university year... just amazing how much the peaceful, sad beginning turns into a sort of happy journey through the song until the calm hits right before the storm that ends the song ♡
Same, but I hope you get to enjoy the tunes for a while yet! I am making a playlist... some Arrive Alive, Aesthesys, Wang Wen, and maybe some We Lost the Sea, Bugs of Phonon, Industries of the Blind, and maybe a touch of This Will Destroy You and Nevermind the Name? Might have to whittle it down some... no one is gonna want to stay that long, lol... probably gonna have to add at least one track from Ben Sharp... Might as well throw in this track from If These Trees Could Talk... it's way too short... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TbvUIFjT660.html

I've been listening to this non-stop for about six hours! It's been really helpful in keeping me relaxed while writing my final essays at university. Thank you so much for sharing! I look forward to hearing more stuff by Wang Wen :)
May 2014 Time: Sunset in the horizont Me. Her. Clouds. Red, yellow and orange filling the sky. Lying on the grass. Sunset in the horizont. Her hair in my face. My hand over her shoulder, touching her face pacefully. A new feeling born. Dont tell anyone but, i think it was love. This song on the background of all these fellings. I felt dizzy, was happy, couldnt think well, words didnt want to come out and when they did, they almost had any sense. Whe turn so we are face to face. We smile, we look each other until she ask me: - What are you thinking ? i lie: - Nothing. I think she knew what i was thinking, i will never know that. A few seconds later - No, really. What are you thinking ? " Shit i think she knows it " - Nothing important. I smile. She smiles me back. - Come on, please tell me... " Im fcked " I never was able to resist her requests. " Sigh... " - Well, i was thinking about kissing you - I dont know how to kiss - Me neither -....... - We could try it Then we go. It wasnt a kiss. I graze his lips for an instant. We are both embrarassed. She burry mi head into his chest and we both laught. Now they are all gone. Anyway you knew the sunset would end, anyway you knew you wasnt for her, anyway you didnt care, and still loving her. I wrote this because sometimes my feelings overcome me, cant handle them, and i feel the necessity to write them. I love writing when this happens, i hardly have to think what to write. Anyway english is not my main lenguage, but i try my best. For those who have been heartbroken, keep seeking for love, in my opinion its all a lie, love only exists if you think it does. I dont belive in love anymore.
I believe your emotions and thoughts are very special indeed. Love is how you define it, and I hope one day it becomes something you can name without any doubt. Keep writing!
Still coming back to this comment and song from time to time. Always sorrowly touches my soul and gives that calm melting mood. Feels like one of the life events that are memorable and filled with nostalgia of something either happy, but lost or sad, cause of missed opportunity. Life goes on...
What a nice surprise to come across this while listening to one of the uploders postrock playlists (IV specifically). Beautiful track, ended up listening to several others from the band immediately after.
love the noise at the end, thick sonic cloud, composition is not the most creative but i love the way it morphs in and out of crescendos like all good post rock. solid upload my friend
惘闻作品中最喜欢的一张专,多希望有一天能去听现场。 btw, do you know that lonely god is also the name of a snack? when Wang Wen performed in China, fans occasionally throw the snack on the stage XD I never went to their live show, I just learned from someone else's comment hope one day I can be there too
+Whsidom conveying emotion, meaning, introspection, whatever it may be through the skill of instruments without relying on vocals. don't get me wrong I love vocals in music too but post-rock captures an atmosphere that no vocals can and can enable strong introspection from the sound alone and you can adapt the song to your own thought or story. for e.g a lot of melancholic post-rock songs have different feeling and story to different people when they listen to it, a lot of songs with lyrics for example are too constrained to what the artists is singing in enabling the listening to take in their own personal association. it is same with other genres that can do this such as classical or jazz (which post-rock genre takes inspiration from as well!)
+Ragnar Danneskjöld Agree, so I believe that most people would classify the post-rock as "ambient music" or sometimes "background music", and personally think it shows us a strong sense of image. That explains post-rock is often used as the BGM of films. But it doesn't means listen to it with concentration is not good. On the contrary, the Live is AWESOME!
but this song has more violin part which makes this song' atmosphere become different than other post-rock song i hear, Wang Wen also use many pop, jazz material in other their song. In other hands, Their tempo faster than other post-rock song. So, i alway wonder that are they really a post-rock band. What's ur opinion?
I was enjoying this song until the last minute or so. Really took me out of the peaceful mindset I was in. It was very jarring and made me angry at the music. I doubt that was what the artist was going for. Just my 2 cents.
