Zoro is the new Ryuma. Remember Oda's story on Ryuma? Ryuma was lied on by D.R., who stated Ryuma stabbed him and he became hated by the people. Zoro is currently in the same situation. In Ryuma's story he slayed a dragon and saved a village. I believe the Shogun of Wano will be the Dragon in this story and Zoro will slay him to become a famed hero of Wano.

I think it´s the same situation as Dressrosa/Zou. We have a glimpse of Wano(Zoro team)/Zou(Sanji team) and then we go back to see Reverie/Dressrosa with a little time skip of some days.

We are all going to have to go full Japanese weeabo (Not Anime Otaku get those Japanese nerd books out kids) to grab all the knowledge Oda will put in this arc. Just from the Shogun's name, Kurozomi Orochi, alone we can draw a lot of theories and potential plot points. Can't wait to see your research Joyboy and what you can come up with. I can't wait to see what references Oda will make. I'm hoping to see some form of stuff from the tale of the Yamato no Orochi and Susanoo. Maybe we'll see the Kusanagi or Oda's version of Amaterasu. And I just noticed but the Beast pirates or some of the samurais to come might have a lot of mythical Zoan potential with the amount famous Japanese monsters plus, Kaido's hideout looking like the Oni Island/Castle. Wano has a lot of potential. And Luffy hasn't even touch down yet who knows what storm he'll bring? Luffy was always referred to as the martial artist sort when Oda would draw him in the Japanese themed shots. Maybe some kung fu fights for his time while Zoro has the swordsmen (Now I'm seeing Luffy becoming Bruce Lee).

Today i have been complaining that Reverie can't just end and that we need some answers but now seeing it from you perspective i have to agree. I mean what was i expecting? Here is a theory I came up with: In this chapter, Zoro was captured for the murder. The noble, planned the murder to happen at a certain time at night. Blame someone he saw, or maybe, just maybe saw on a wanted poster that he got from one, or more, of Kaido's men. I know he has to be working with Kaido and knew who exactly, who he was. And blamed him for the murder, that the noble committed against Zoro, since he stood out. So, Zoro had no choice to give in and cut the noble down. Knowing he set him up. Now I could be wrong. and he just found him on the street like it said. People have been known to lie. Even in the One Piece universe. This noble could have been working with Kaido, and could have known of Zoro's bounty. Or, as I said, it could have been coincidence. I am glad to see a chapter of Wano. (Another note: Does Oda-sensei have to be leaving people with more questions than answers? Seriously. It is nerve wracking!)

The big problem with moving on from the reverie is that what you said about info dumped was what was expected, but we got no info on the world, just plot twist and more questions than anything before moving on. Reverie is going on for 7 days and the longest known arc (Totland) lasted 5 days consecutively. We may see the end of reverie after Wano ! Anyways let’s move on even if some like me are pissed that they just off screened something that was expected since Alabasta. We still have hope !

Ame no Murakumo name changed from what Ive readed, because a feudal lord that was ambushed in and lead to a trap, the trap being a overgrown grass field which slows down your movement since it really tall and dense, got lit on fire, so they were gonna burn him alive, well, he saved himself by using the Murakumo to cleave its path throug the grass, now do note this may not sound so amazing but like cutting bamboo, cutting tall grass with a single sword swing is really hard, so it can be said to be a testament of its sharpness or his skill with the sword that allowed him to cut his path in a fast and effortlesly manner to escape from the fire, and since he wasnt supposed to be skilled it was said that the sword was really freaking sharp thus able to cleave anything in half, but for some reason this lord decided to rename the sword Kusanagi no Tsurugi, which litterally means grass cutting sword, talk about a downgrade

I love Oda art style it's so unique and creative, so to see his take on feudal Japan had me so excited. That double page spread of Wano was incredible the detail lore and culture which will go into this arc will be amazing. As much as i liked the reverie, that one spread had me hooked.

If Whitebeard truely was a "Rocks" pirate, then I belive that he was kicked out from the crew. As Marco stated: He truely cared for the ppl in his village and always gave almost everything his crew got to them. He may have stolen some of the treasures from "Rocks" a few times and they finally noticed him. He then got kicked out because he would be a pain in the ass to fight, espsially when Garp is on their ass.

Hi Joyboy, I was just watching some random stuff on youtube and then suddenly something pique my interest, and it would be too interesting to pass up. So yeah, I got a theory here about Luffy's possible awakening. What could it be? More like he already gave us a hint on what it could be. Its pretty hard to explain the theory as my mind is messed up currently due to some things, but here the gist of it: - Luffy awakens his devil fruit - According to Doflamingo, an awakened user is able to change the chemical make up of the things around him - Luffy can now turn his surroundings into a rubber substance - Notice that most of gear forms utilizes "AIR" to inflate, the only exception is like gear 2? which is pumping blood - Gear 3 gains bone mass by blowing - Gear 4 is muscle mass by blowing - The theory is that instead of using the conventional air blowing, luffy will consume objects around him that eventually "turns into rubber" within him - Like the Gear 4 Tankman, he assimilates more and more mass by eating. Luffy is a glutton - Via his compressive capabilities, it increases his total muscle/bone/structure mass - He will also be able to compress that volume of mass into layers and layers of compression - As the tension of the compression increases, the potential energy also increases - And as you know, as the potential tension energy increases, it will also increase the kinetic energy mutipicatively - Combined with the concept: as the mass increases, the force increases - Force of Luffy's attracks in awakened = Super Mass x acceleration of attacks due to super kinetic energy relieved from the potential energy compression Sounds a bit science-y but yeah, I like this idea more than converting rubber things and jumping around like bellamy, it just isn't his style. What do you mean Zoro is gonna be nerfed? Did he or did he not just kill the guy who held his legendary sword, and that looked like the head/ strongest guy in that suituation aside from Zoro. It doesn't make any sense to expect zoro (The Ultimate Badass that he is) to leave his best sword lying mere inches away from him, by the body of the real murderer, he could literally travel that distance in a second and be gone in the next. If whitebeard, big mom and Kaido were all on the same ship 40 years ago that means we've seen their captain, because Whitebeard had a flashback at marine ford of his old captain asking what he wanted more than treasure.

BlackBeard is WhiteBeards unknown son, got close to destroy his deadbeat dads legacy to get revenge for leaving his mom and making them suffer cuz all he cared about was his family on the seas.

Another great chapter from Oda. It was great to see Marco again. As my favorite living character in the series it was really enjoyable to see him in a noncombat scenario enjoying what little he has left. The Whitebeard backstory is very appreciated and provides some nice context on his character. Bakkin having an actual history with Whitebeard doesn't surprise me one iota. If she is to be somewhat believable in saying she had a kid with Whitebeard they had to at least know each other. As for whether Marco is going to Wano I think the answer is abundantly clear. He is totally going. Since Wano is going to hold a boatload of information on Whitebeard we need someone who actually knew Whitebeard's secrets to clarify and aid our understanding. All that being said I think its just Marco which is sad for me (I would love to see Jozu and Vista again) but that makes sense. Marco could be calling one of those two to the island to protect it while he is gone.

I believe we will learn about what happened 40 years ago through Bakkin, in the same way we learned how the Roger Pirates disbanded through Rayleigh. There is no other character as suitable as her, because one: she doesn't seem that strong, so she isn't the person who should be defeated; two: she seems more of a information-gatherer (hints when she was reading the newspaper and got interested when she was revealed), thus she must know every single detail. Usually Oda has a purpose for every character he hypes up: they either become enemies to overcome, or they give important information for world building or further development. Rayleigh followed the same line, where he revealed info from the past and later served as plot convenient to distract Kizaru. I don't see this information being revealed by marines, nonetheless Garp. As far as i understand, Garp has yet to tell Luffy he was the one who "captured" Gol D Roger.

I think the “jobs” the straw hats have right now will play into their plan to go after the shogun. Franky is working on building walls, either gaining intel on the fortifications or sabotaging them. Usopp is selling toad oil which is flammable. Robin is a geisha to gain an audience with the shogun. I’m unsure what Zoro’s exact job was supposed to be but if he’s classified as ronin and they’re considering him as a samurai, he may get a job as a bodyguard.

You'll be having Chopper Phoenic and Law 3 highly skilled doctors in Wano. Law can cut BM up get the corpse (or remains) of her mother outside her body (maybe thats the cause of her illness) and chopper and Phoenic will help her to heal, especially with Phoenix healing fire. It will be a massive boost in skills for Chopper too, this experience.

Just a thought that hit me a moment ago about Shakky. What if Shakky was THE Captain of all of these pirates and they called them the Rocks because that's how Shakky use to have her drinks on the rocks. I dont remember if she drinks anytime we see her but she does own a bar. Or she was never a drinker but a bartender the entire time she was the captain and always made every drink on the rocks. we do see Rayleigh drinking drinks on the rocks. just a thought.

The whole thing with the Pirate Incident occurring 23 years ago. Is it possible that this is when Kaido and Moria fought and when all of Moria's crew were killed? Then could that be the time that Kaido took control of Wano?

I just wanted to point out that the Yamata no Orochi, that the Shogun is named after is a Dragon, in Japanese mythology snakes and dragons are kinda interchangable. That might hint at Kinemon's hatred for Dragons

One piece is very "fast paced" in regards of how quickly shit happens (in the Story days) so we could see a reverie that ends almost at the same time as they get the information about wanno... something like " the shogun of wanno defeated by strawhats" and they go crazy about it !

I have interesting observation. Have you seen panel with whitebeard as kid? In that panel. In background there is child which is exactly same as Blackbeard as kid which was drawn by oda.

I personally think the transition to Wano was done intentionally. Think about it: 1) Wano is not regulated by the government... meaning, all their history is likely untouched and not destroyed by the world government. 2) Due to this untouched history, we could get more info on the ancient Kingdom. 3) This info could reveal more of the void century, which could reveal more of who and what Im-sama actually is. I'm hyped about Wano, the Shogun and Kaido.... but I think Wano will serve as more than just that.
