No, the timing he move to the circle is the step you have to wait for a little, spamming the button will fail the sequence.

The way he performs ultimate type is depending on how you perform core passive, if you hold basic to fire he will using air ultimate, if you spam red to fire he will using ground ultimate. So, switch out will not affect his phase.
