A couple days ago in Bull Bay that Helix hook with 4in Mulligan in that white/sparkle color caught 5 snook, 1 tarpon and a mess of trout. 💪🏽

I recently found some weedless hooks with a sliding weight so you can adjust how it falls. It's easy to make it dive like a jig or it can fall horizontally. They have a pin with barbs instead of a screw lock. I think Mustad makes them. I got a pack to try and the baits look great. But playing with them at the pier while nothing was biting wasn't a great test. I'll be trying them more.

I think I know the ones you’re talking about. I like the idea of the sliding weight but the pin style keeper leaves a lot to be desired. Let us know how they work for you!

It would helped if a how-to for rigging the weedless jighead was shown. I use all of these, except the weedless jighead, and have had some success.

Does a weedless hook prevent fish or attract them? Sometimes I feel like using a jig head gets more bites, but idk

Sounds like it could be depth control. Make sure you’re using enough weight to get to the bottom in most situations. An open jighead will have a better hook up ratio so if you can get away with using them, go that route. Only use the weedless option if you get hung up a lot.
