Thank for the information I never primed my oil filter cause I thought it wasn't necessary since every other RU-vidr didn't. My start up rattle/chatter was insane today. I wish I would have seen this video before instead of the other ones.

5:38 a trick I have figured out on anything that you screw, if you twist counter clockwise with a little bit of pressure, the threads will seat because you will hear it and feel it seat. That will never fail and you will never cross thread anything.

When you insert the new oil filter you need to push it in until you hear a snap. I didn’t see you do that so your filter housing threads may not reach the threads on the engine. I also didn’t see you use an oil filter wrench on the housing which also needs to be torqued to a specific amount. Check your owners manual for the specifications including how many quarts of oil the engine takes. Check the oil level after running the engine for a few minutes so the oil filter gets filled with oil and check for leaks. I’ve been working on my cars since 1973.

Torque wrench and the right torque on the bold is also a great idea :D ... just to prevent the bold is under/over tightened. and no... only a jack is a bad idea, if you will get under the car always use proper ramps or this way. ...otherwise, if it falls it will crush you (specially those very low cars), we will be very very sad if that happens... be careful ❤ ... other than that, it's a great video!

I bought a couple wheel ramps from walmart for like $50. Oil change in 10 mins. Saves me so much money. Also, before I hit the comment button, I saw the car shake with you under it and my heart sank. Holy moly LOL I bet you about sh-t yer pants. One time my old man paid for an oil and filter change for me to treat me. It was a lot of money too. After 3000 miles it started running funny. They never changed the filter, but charged my dad. The filter had completely collapsed. Never ever again. Always do it yourself.

Please, protect your eyes. You are doing a lot, but protection never hurts. Will save you a lot on medical bills.😅 Also, a good set of ramps will solve your problems of getting under all your cars. These ramps will serve you and your grand kids forever. I am a certified auto mechanic in the past, was very enjoying your way of changing the oil. Oh, and I have my kid driving Elantra 2018 which I am changing oil in regularly! Big thumbs up to your father!

Should always start the car after filling the oil and let run about 30 seconds, wait a minute and check it again. It’ll usually need another 1/4 quart depending on the size of the engine. Also, if your car has a turbo, FULL SYNTHETIC IS REQUIRED.

She's gorgeous, she's doing a 'man's job' but she's staying true to her female roots...case in point, the sandwich baggie on hand instead of a nitrile glove! Ahhh women, gotta luv 'em! P.S. it's always a good idea to use a torque wrench set to the proper torque value on the oil drain plug and goggles just in case any oil or other debris gets into your eyes, you can thank me later

This reminds me of my neighbor. One Saturday morning, I saw him under his car at around 9am. About three hours later, he finally walked out from under the car, all sweaty and his knuckles all busted up. I asked him, what were you doing? He said, "I just finished replacing my muffler and saved myself $50.00 bucks".

Things to make ur job faster. Get a creeper so u can move around bottom of your car easily without getting your back dirty. Get a simple $1 funnel instead of water bottle. Get ramps. *optional* replace drain bolt with fumoto drain valve. Your job will be lot easier, faster, and cleaner. Congrats on your oil change. We need more woman like yourself in this world.

Never use a tool, to tighten the oil filter. The oil filter must be hand tightened only. Next time you need to change it, you would not get it out so easy, when you tighten it with a tool. Oh, and what black scratches were on the rear driver side door at 9:18 ??

Take it from an automotive technician you did a good job!! But just one last thing, start it up check for leaks. Turn it back off recheck the oil and you’re done. Oh yeah, write down your mileage.

color of that break fluid, needs to be changed if not done already as this is 5+ months old video. Also yes, use a pre-oiled filter. Found video that tested dry vs oiled, and oiled wins.
