Worst game? Nah this game is actually good, even if it's bad. Don't even know what this means. But for that it's better than a lot of recent triple A's.
@@mam0lechinookclan607 That’s my whole point, this game is good but it got a lot of bad reviews. (IGN gave it the same score as Gollum for example) And it looks like a bad game at face value. But in reality is a lot of fun.
@@mam0lechinookclan607 mean, yes but no. I would still prefer some triple a games over Wanted:Dead because Wanted:Dead reminds me so much of The Devil's Third but with more bugs and glitches and a story that's enjoyable but still doesn't make sense. I will say, Wanted:Dead is WAY better than Gollum and that's a fact.
@@mam0lechinookclan607 Actually, "official" game journalists at the big outlets are _too_ in touch with the industry, in that publishers tell them "write this or no more early review copies of games for your gaming news outlet" and they say "yes mr moneybags nom nom tasty balls". Which exacerbates the fact that the mainstream games industry isn't in touch with its own medium of video games (maybe even fun ones). Sadge.
I'll be honest, this doesn't even look THAT bad, I've seen far worse games than this many times. I'm just kind of in awe of how this particular game even came into existence. It feels... _uncanny?_
If Oboe likes games that have a robust melee system but also let the player go nuts with a machine gun, he should try the Shadow Warrior reboot series.
except for 2, cause the guns in that were absolutely fucking useless compared to the guns with how they scaled with gems(? the things that had lifesteal, damage/elemental damage, etc)
That's exactly how I felt watching this It felt like someone, who had heard someone else explain the Yakuza games, attempted to make a Yakuza-style game
This comment is funny because the imdb page lists Stefanie Joosten as one of the directors and she was IN metal gear. Maybe she never got around to playing it.
Im enjoying it more than a lot of triple A games. We need more games like this but more polished, and I mean gameplay. I dont care about stories and dialogs, specially from modern games.
There’s something so Oboeshoesgaming about Oboeshoesgaming using a literal cheat code to unlock the easiest difficulty, then complain that the combat is boring. Such a great content creator.
Same, the way the gun-kata works is actually pretty unique compared to other character action games. That and the pistol counters are really cool. I unironically want a sequel to this game but with better story writing and voice acting/directing.
I'm fairly certain Devil's Third doesn't exist. I remember waiting for that game as a content starved Wii U owner. Waiting....and waiting...and then hearing it is probably a mess and they maybe don't want to release it...and then I got a Switch and Series S and didn't ever have to think about it until right now. Man....now I realize even though it definitely sucks I still want to play Devil's Third.
LoL, just got home with copy of this. Local GS had a collector's edition. The art book is actually pretty dope. The devs certainly had a vision, even if they didn't completely stick the landing.
I really wish more games had Wanted:Dead's sheer charisma and confidence in it's lunacy and oddly detailed environmental storytelling. You missed the giant cat-tree that sprawled across the entire armory lol!
It may be ridiculously silly but I think this game has a lot of charm. But >"$60" yeah I'm gonna wait for a sale. Also I deeply respect that this game put's 7 and 8's outta 10 in their steam trailer like a badge of honor.
@@matteus__ Unless they've suddenly changed something without telling us (as per usual). Violence should only cause demonitization at most. Edit: Guess I kinda forgot about how most Mortal Kombat videos with fatalities included are also age restricted. Still one or two chainsaw kills shouldn't be that bad
1:13 I absolutely adore how he goes through so much mental gymnastic to come up with a logical reason as to why the handwritten text on a random background prop is a font. I don't think I will ever get tired of Oboe inspecting random items in video games (As a matter of fact I would love to see you do a tier list of early 2000's fps games solely based on how realistic their props are)
If y'all were as fascinated by this weird game as I was, I highly recommend Jacob Gellar's video essay about it ("The Strangest Game of 2023"). One of the trailers for the game was the gunsmith's VA (Stefanie Joosten, who was Quiet in MGSV) making lasagna, and Jacob made a companion video on Nebula were he follows the recipe. I really feel like this game will have cult status a decade from now.
I love that oboeshoes is the one shooter guy that doesn't jerk himself off about how good he is at shooters by playing on the difficulty he thinks is fun and not just hard mode
I really like this game and I don’t look down on people adjusting the difficulty, but to me it points to them trying to just beat the game to make content instead of enjoying it as a piece of art.
it looks like they really want to make a competent game. it feels like it has passion put into it with all that mechanics and suddent cut to an anime cutscene which just adds an extra work for something that most people will ignore. the huge noticeable thing right off the bat is it looks like an asset flip. the character models looks straight from asset store.
The studio that made this game is the result of a merger involving the makers of Devils Third for Wii U. It was criticized for ungodly amounts of jank, stupidity, and nonstop senseless violence... But I loved it! Watching this video, it's clear Wanted: Dead is the spiritual successor to Devils Third. It looks like the same gameplay with a fraction of the jank. Despite the fact I loved Devils Third, it did run like hot garbage.
lol I actually finished this game but never realized that Beer named SHASH (1:30) just so you know...Shash in Farsi (which is the Iranian language) means Piss! xD
@@rutabega8348 yeah but this game is very unfinished. At the very least it needs a Redux or some fancy named version that takes the money earned from the sales and makes something really good out of it. That's not gonna happen but.
No it doesn’t, and I’m pretty sure the studio is done making games considering the awful sales numbers, they can’t even afford to release a single patch.
@@CourierSiix there have been other games that came out in terrible states and a year or so after got remaster/definitive editions/directors cuts. fixing major issues and adding content. It's almost certainly not going to happen. But this feels like the beta of what could be a really good game.
Ohey I've passed by this on the Xbox store a few times and it looks kinda neat. I really like the character design from what I've seen especially the main character.
six foot tall Swiss felon-turned-cop who wields a katana. certainly one of the more unique video game main characters in recent memory. game is fun though once you get the combat down!
Dam! I just recently played and beat Dark Souls 1 for the first time and that Furtive Pygmy reference at 4:16 was excellent. Literally first thing i thought of when i read ‘furtive’ was that and bam next frame lol, Oboe’s knowledge of videogame lore and references is wild!
One of the dev teams made an anime instead of a game. They either didn’t understand the assignment at all, or understood it perfectly. We’ll never know which.
I'm so glad that games are still being made and coming out on older systems. I just got through watching a playthrough of the McDonalds GBC game and then I find out a PS3 game released this year, too.
Once again, you disappoint me! If your next video isn't Marc Eckō's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure, I will sit here and eat an entire phone book in protest!
I dont know wich oboequote i like best "Child friendly decapitation animations? Hell yeah" Or "This stuffed animal... i love it so much it reminds me of when i used to do heroin i guess" (Quotes may be subject to bad memory and attention span...)
