For the first time in over 150 years history is made with the birth of a bison. Wanuskewin is proud to welcome a female plains bison back to the land. She was born Wednesday April 22nd, 2020. The herd at Wanuskewin is a conservation herd made up of bison from Grasslands National Park as well as bison from the U.S. with ancestral ties to Yellowstone. In December of 2019 we were thrilled to welcome these two herds to the park to educate our guests as we share the significant story of kinship with the people of the Northern Plains.
