They should be kept. Let's wait till Oracle reaches its maximum, and then we'll have a better sense of how to utilise all of the items efficiently. However, if you're willing to spend money, you can break down these items, for superior totem ( purple).
We use 5 artefacts at a time , and they provide different stats. As a result, we are unable to use other artefacts; however, totems now assist in the use of unused artefacts by providing new stats and abilities. So you'll need a normal or superior psionic tattoo to unlock that skill. And we'll need a normal or superior rune stone to raise star level, i.e. gain new stats. ( artefacts old stats doesn't work on totem) These things are obtained by exchanging materials in the shop, which is done with the help of breakdown. ( breakdown only for, superior and master totem)
Better, however we still need to raise the star level. ( some situation ) So, first test it out on a normal totem. We can change them back to artefact( for old stats), but we'll lose the new effects temporarily. Also, I'm not sure what happens if we reset artefacts after upgrading in totem force.
