Anna Barker leads a discussion about Volume I of Leo Tolstoy's "War and Peace" with participants in the 2021 community reading project of the novel sponsored by the Iowa City UNESCO City of Literature.
Anna, I can't find the words; I know the energy, excitement and information you share with your readers about the literary writers and I am in awe! The volume one history that tied pieces of War and Peace together for me was so welcomed. Thank you for the time you share with your readers. Thank you!
Great discussion, thanks a lot, your work is much appreciated... Cannot avoid examining the participants body-language, some not very supportive I guess...
Is there any major spoilers for volume 2,3,4 besides the historical context? I am asking because at this point, not knowing what happens in the end is what motivates me to finish such a large novel. For me it is quite a big work. The historical context does help me to understand, as my historical knowledge is limited.
