I love how Burnside had a habit of being thrust into hopeless assaults. His brigade was the first to engage in the flank assault at Bull Run. Was sent to assault the stone wall positions at Fredericksburg, and now at Antietam has to cross a narrow stone bridge under fire and assault up hill wooded terrain. The guy is a goddamn legend and it's a miracle he survived the war 🤯

@@TKDragon75 yes you're right. I sometimes get mixed up on the chronology of the battles but the fact he participated in both battles and survived while his men suffered horrendous casualties is nothing short of a Miracle imo.

He thrust himself into making those assaults needlessly. He himself stated he wasnt suited to lead larger bodies of troops.

This captures how bloody & savage the Civil War was. As a Northerner I have to respect the troops of the South's spirit even though they were outnumbered, poorly armed, underfed, & under supplied. There was no way they could win this war. May it never happen again.

it absolutely is. Its always populated and theres dozens of Line battle communities that run these sort of events multiple nights every week. I havent made any WoR content in a while but it is still very much hopping and popping. Enjoy your time. Youre ganna have a blast.
