I have both the 1861 and the 1853 enfield, I also have the 1877 sharps rifle both 32 inch iron sight and a 34 inch with a 6x Malcom scope attached to it. All are reproductions made by armi sport and pedersoli. The rifled muskets are about 2-3 moa at 100 yards but I am experimenting on grain weight and powder charge. The sharps rifles are both 1.2 or less at 100 yards. But I use smokeless powder and gas checks.
this game has extremly good mechanics it feels heavy to the point that you really have to stick with the team or else you would loose. i wish more games follow these mechanics.
For anyone else struggling with the steam overlay issue, if you open the overlay and go into the settings somewhere in the bottom right you should have an option to change the key bind. I put mine on the number pad and haven’t had the issue since.
Oh I didn't know the wind accuracy mattered in this game. I gotta figure out how to practice shooting then. I usually play union side just random . I am new to the game lol.
there's a myth with players saying to aim super low to actually hit at short range. Realistic for real life maybe but it's not that exaggerated in the game. in the 22 yard shot you can actually see the bullet go exactly to where you aimed. so maybe a few cm difference and too neglible compared to the gamer community myth that you have to shoot aim at the legs to hit the torso at clsoe range
I think aiming for the groin is still a good idea because people tend to pull their shots high instinctively. In the words of Mel Gibson, "Aim small, miss small."
hey my longest is 293 yards and you can see it on my screenshots. You want a good steady aim? Aim high right when you aim down the sights. let that sway go on for a second then let the barrel fall into place and steady it center. fire when you reach you target in your sights. that is how you aim a heavy barrel riffle. Also using a barrette on the riffle is going to make your riffle drop especially when you fire. bullet has a rise to it to the left. It follows real physics of magnus effect. after 200 yards your bullet now starts to drop. And you are correct, these are not 100 percent accurate. More like 30 percent in real life at a 100 yard distance. They shot balls not tipped rounds.
the whole point of the mechanics ingame are cones that come from the barrel. The longer a cone goes the more inaccurate the gun is so any shots about 200y even if you aim perfectly will hit randomly
Yes there is an active community that plays organizes matches. There are still pub games, but the major action comes in joining a regiment and playing planned fights.
