I own this video of War of the Worlds and it's incredible.The closest thing we will get to a movie version of the album.Such a marvelous song so full of emotion.

This show is the live theatrical version of Jeff Wayne's famous rock opera War of the Worlds released in 1978 and tells the story of the HG Wells novel. Justin Hayward sang Forever Autumn on the original album and he's also vocalist with the Moody Blues. He guested on the first few tours of this show. I recommend you listen to the whole original album, its amazing. This song was released as a single in the UK and was a top ten hit at the time. Worth mentioning that WOTW is Jeff Wayne's debut album too and is an international best-seller (he's the guy conducting the orchestra in this show). I love the detail in this - the band are in Victorian period costume. Its a fusion of theatre, cinema (6.08 that's art work from the album inside covers) and live music. Check it out, its a classic rock album.

I wish I could attend any of Jeff's performances, all I got is the double CD and my mother has the double vinyl of it. Phil Lynot as the Priest who goes nuts, and Julie Covington [Evita] as his wife, David Essex as the Artilleryman. David has that "husky" voice, like Kim Karnes and the more recent Poker Face main actress.

Hard to get a copy of this video as it is not made for export out of Europe and their DVD's will not play on our equipment in the states. In 2020 I made reservations in London to see the actual show but insanity has prevented that as proof of covid shots are required even if you have immunity.
