@@sarubet8725 I don't think. This is more Independence Day that War of the Worlds. Humans fighting the aliens is more satisfied, but isn't the premise of War of the Worlds.
Oh yeah this version of war of the worlds takes place during the era of Teddy Roosevelt, it's pretty cool There was a version done by BBC in the style of a documentary called The Great Martian War, it's also very good
I love how the death by Heat Ray in this movie differs from the mainstream movie. You actually see a hint of pain and fear on their faces as they disintegrate.
To my knowledge this is the only adaptation of the war of the worlds where humans and Martians fought on equal grounds in terms of technology which makes it an actual war
The humans and martians in the original book were pretty evenly matched, a artillery barrage takes down one, and the thunderchild destroyed three before dying
"OK how do we make this movie badass?" "You know Theodore roosevelt right....." "Yes?" "Have him with a heavy machine gun shooting down Martian ufos." "Give this man a raise."
Reimaginings of the film Aliens vs Predator: Goliath Avengers/Justice League: War of the Worlds - Goliath (Excluding the DC Elseworlds story "Superman: War of the Worlds") Godzilla: War of the Worlds - Goliath
This movie wasn't very good. You can tell it was strained a few times by budget and probably director's inexperience BUT MAN OH MAN DID IT LOOK GOOD Damn fuckin shame it didn't get a sequel. I hope in the future it will
Exactly my thoughts, given how great the designs, the environments and the backgrounds all look! Just sucks that the narrative itself was really constrained and felt... unrealistic, ontop of the logic never ceasing in its relentlessly bouncing all over the place. Honestly feels like the premise in general would definitely benefit from a reboot in the form of a hopefully more flexible series instead of just a movie.
They better make a sequel which is set in a different timeline where the martians succeed in their first invasion and conquered the planet earth while humanity is trying to find a way to fight back
You might wanna recount on The Deaths, because the Hermes Class / Scout Tripod is only one seater, Achilles Class - Pre Goliath is a Crew of 4 and finally the Achilles Class - Heavy Tripod is a crew of 6. I watched this good film many times and I still love this.
"If it bleeds, it dies." I watched this years ago and have watched it several times since. It isn't perfect but then, I have never in my 67 years found a movie that was.
It's not really, it's supposed to be short of a sequel where the humans of the 1915s reverse engineered the technology of the Martians after the invasion that happened in the books ended. Similar to the History Channel's take but instead of Martians invading during WW1, you have humans never starting a world world and create new weaponry to combat a second invasion instead by Martians that....somehow became immune to earth's germs.
@@stephenbyrne3909 True. Martians may have been a bit more advanced but their numbers were limited by the travel from Mars to earth. They killed but they bleed for every inch
Haven't seen this movie, but it seems very well designed and thought out, even paying homage to the genres that were prominent in Welle's times, as well as the original alien machine designs
Since when did this movie exists, don't get me wrong, it does look really spectacular. I really enjoyed the Tom Cruise version growing up and I always do have an interest in adult animated movies, keep up the great work Carnage. 😉👍
One of the reasons why I find this good is because it didn't make the humans look ridiculously weak to an extent where their technology was entirely useless.
"Massacre of Mankind" by Stephen Baxter. The official sequel to H.G. Wells "War of the Worlds" has a very similar premise and aesthetic. "Massacre of Mankind" is approved by the Wells estate; official canon continuity.
@@Rat_Fบcker To be fair big Ted was an absolute maniac. An incredibly well read, intelligent, and thoughtful maniac, but a maniac none the less. You don't get shot in the chest and give a speech immediately after if you're sane.
The thing is, the Martians are at a massive disadvantage. There is nothing they can learn from the humans, but the humans can learn so much from them. Not only that but earth has the home turf advantage.
To all that thought this is a steampank reboot and comment it's not faithful to the original, no it's not, it's an animated sequel were ww1 never happens and humans reverse engineered the martian technology and the Martians attack again upgraded with a immunity to the bacteria. It has nothing to do with any of the live action movies. Its just an interpretation of what happened after the book ended.
@@joanork9587 what this has to do with the film? in the film there is barely any attention given to any nation or empire, it's a united front against the Martians, WW1 even gets cancelled.
@@joanork9587 We do have Austrian, and German Tripod crews and Von Richthoffen got to fly his red tri-plane. And if we ever do a sequel we will set a lot of it in Europe. Central powers, guaranteed!
How have I never seen this movie!!! From the looks of it there aren't any little girls I want to see disintegrated so that's DEFINITELY an improvement from the 2005 one!!
This animated movie is actually one of the closest adaptions of the novel as the plot evolves around human fighting 2nd invasion of Martian after the their 1st unsuccessful one in 1897
Tom Cruise in a mech would've only worked in the sequel; maybe. As for this movie, why weren't the infantry all armed with rocket launchers instead of obviously ineffective submachine guns? They might work against smaller tripods, but they didn't even scratch the battle models.
I imagine that after this, the Martians just say, "fuck it", and glass earth from the safety of Earth's outer atmosphere. Or introduce a Martian disease as revenge for their very first defeat.
Gave you guys a thumb up. Teddy Roosevelt was a very impressive man then President. I like the idea of the Can Do President in this H G Wells Story we have come to love. Although its a game and fiction it comes down to a feeling of THE what if scenario and in this game and interesting little story you brought to life. You guys did this And its pretty dam cool.
You may want to modify the kill counts to include all the dead on both battle Zepps and in the Martian Wing. Cumulatively between the three of them, that's about 3400 extra dead humans and aliens.
The original war of the worlds story is the prequel. This movie is supposed to take place after the Martian’s first invasion, with this being the second invasion with the Martian’s now immune to earth’s diseases.
Fun Fact. H.G Wells, who created War of the World's, was born in Kent. Specifically Bromley.and Bromley is remembered as "the birthplace of sci-fi" (or something like that)
Imagine the lives that would've been saved if they didn't build mechs that stand out like a sore thumb and instead stuck the fucking laser cannons on tanks
Mech-on-Mech action looks amazing and is great for entertainment. That being said, this is about the level of intelligence as the Pacific Rim movie shows in it's humans when they decide to try and wall off the entire pacific ocean. Giant walking mechs are an awesome weapon to use against invaders, so long as they don't get immediately destroyed by a single hit from any of the enemy's weapons. Any person with remote knowledge about warfare would decide that giant walking mechs are inferior to a similar number of self-propelled guns. Instead of one large mech that gets one-shot by your enemy, just distribute it's weaponry on 3 or 4 different vehicles. They are harder to hit and the enemy has to hit more of them, so the chance that you'll at least get to fire your ammunition increases manifold. Not as cool as giant mechs, though.
