I have been to Thailand and read books on people who have been to Thai prisons, if I ever considered smuggling drugs the absolute last place would be to or from Thailand.
@@gmeme9252 I read a book about a British guy locked up in the Dragon(prison) in Bangkok for drugs and the things he mentioned were worse than any hell I could imagine, people had cockroaches literally eating them alive while they slept and prisoners who didn’t listen or complained spend days up to their necks in a pool of human fecal matter. The books name is -The damage done
And they say New York is the city that never sleeps... Well, with a total of 61 billion dollars a year being trafficked/consumed; I beg to differ NY NY, I beg to differ.
many of the areas around the golden triangle (inside of Thailand) were used to grow opium. The late King of Thailand helped the hill tribe people replace the opium by growing things like tea and coffee instead. So it has changed a lot over the past 30 years. but the smuggling still remains a problems.
At least their senator, mayors, generals and police and even chairman of a small place are not in dealing drugs like in Philippines. Respect to Thailand for it.
This is an insightful informative piece. Despite the drug issue that has been increasingly severe in recent years, this kind of coverage is rare in Thailand. It is a deep rooted problem that flourished because of corruption in this country. While authorities work as hard as they can, we all know that they can still sell these things because it goes to the top of our bureaucratic system.
Even fugitive PM -Thaksin also got large benefits from meth trade, but he just pretended to go war with other smugglers, so everyone would recognize him as real fighter
actually no. that’s another conspiracy theory- The reason why he got so many enemies is because he went to war with them and there are so many deep rooted corrupt people in government or influential positions who are in the drug / prostitution trade.
The war on drugs has been going on for like 50 years and there's more drugs on the streets than ever before! All that money wasted when it could have gone to the people and would likely have put a huge dent in drug sales if people weren't full of constant worry that they felt like they need to take drugs to escape the horrible reality they are forced to live in because of the 1%
@@friendlyzombie1460 yes but just because certain chemicals are used to synthesis the drug does not mean that in the final product has those chemicals in it. 🇭🇲
Sorry to burst that bubble, the Thai police don't own a single helicopter, but they do have a new private business jet in police colours. Does that sound like a morally upstanding body of lawmen equipped to fight a war on drugs, or something entirely strange? Go ahead and google their jet.
Yaba is a curse for 🇧🇩 as well. Specially Cox’s Bazar area of the country is about to get destroyed. All the yaba come from Myanmar. Myanmar as a neighbouring country gifted Bangladesh with yaba and millions of Rohingya refugees.
In 2000 it was already so easy to found some but with years it s getting worse, one of my friends died 10 years ago, yabaa means get crazy. All the hard workers used it to be awake day and night to win a bit more money. Usually Thai police execute dealer in the street..
@@myplaylist4959 ummm they are exciting addicts, problem with executing dealers is that a lot ofthem are doing it because they are forced, or they are just trying to feedthere family
There is a part of Myanmar occupied by many Chinese, and these Chinese are doing all kind of illegal deals, there is a general there, very rich. They are dealing with drugs too, and casinos.
Many thai drivers use yaba. And thats a big problem. Aroundish 70 ppl die every day in the trafic of Thailand. Notice the Possible combination of yaba, and trafic.
Because education is so expensive in Thailand and mostly only for the rich, theres not a lot of good job for people without education. So making money from drugs seems to be the option for most of the people. I think if the Gov makes the education free or affordable like in the UK, there will be less drug and other criminal activities problems.
Yaa baa is cooked in the Shan state and sent via Mae Sai . They usually put some in a small van and tip off Thai Tamruat (police). Then some poor Burmese are caught and a big truck follows. The Yaa Baa gets through.
What's to be bitter about? This biggest drug operation on Thailand was after all owned by the official themselve. Hell, Even the vice president of the Agriculture ministry once being arrested in Australia because of drug. And worst, Most of these big meth operation are endorse by the "Main man" of the country or in other word, The King himself too. So I see no point for being pretense about all of these more than a farce from the official themself at all.
Why would the longest standing richest royal family in the world go into drugs ??? Sure getting family nice contracts etc but a 80 billion dollar family cares less about meth. And remember how many dealers the king had shot in the 90s ??
dont know about u guys but am still getting over the tea drug, which uk went to war over with china a long time ago am still alive and kicking with teat bags in my system lol
One of the only professional reports that have ever reported on sky new , to be quite honest what ever sky news says is always had some UAE 🇦🇪 government propaganda but y’all did good good on this one ☝️ I’ll give ya that
Still believe the propaganda without question? That's unfortunate. Ever wondered why there's so much money and yet so few real victims? They use scary trigger words, but they only show some hapless prisoners and ONE white guy who can't hold his own dose. Anyone can see their lies don't add up, they're not even hiding the figures. It's total bs that meth is"deadly". Deadlier than what, alcohol? If meth were sold like alcohol it would be even safer. The danger is in the unregulated supply.
Iv done yaba 5 times at full moon parties. It was brilliant. Never got addicted. But had to stop a few years ago as a German tourist bought some from an undercover police. We didn’t see him again
Its very unfortunate and sad that those thai lady addicts are locked up in Prison. Addicts need help because they are addicted. Prison is not the answer.
