@@Caktusdud. yes, there is a mod that let you play as Axis and allies with german, italian, American, french and British ships, also planes are modeled, even there is an Atlantic campaign, but just think the sheer size of the map…
@@PomniMW i would wait for YorTs Atlantic Campaign. Usually the ABDA team do amazing work in their campaigns, as you can kind of see from Wolfpacks current (and previous) WotS campaigns
17:03 The sub chaser 7 sunk because 16:52 in the small tactical map in lower right corner you can see that the two torpedoes that missed 2 went straight for 7 👍🏻
Nope, you can see that in the bottom left it logs every hit by torpedoes and bombs and it doesn’t list a hit for 7. Also it shows that it sinks at 16:36 while the torpedoes are at 2’s position at 16:35 so it can’t have been them. My guess is it might’ve been hit by friendly AA fire but 🤷♂️ might just be the wonky mod
"Why was my sister named Rose?" "Because that's your mother's favorite kind of flower." "Thanks, Dad." "You're welcome, PBY-5A Catalina." Jokes aside, that's a pretty unique name. Very nice.
9:33 Yes, that Sub-Chaser has full sized fleet destroyers inside those depth charges and can summon them like they're pokemon balls: "Yugumo, I choose you!"
That's exactly it for me. Wolfpack has been playing really well, just the Japanese seem to take a pounding while his ships just explode if they are so much as looked at.
@@andrewhowell1344 I didn't intend to imply that he's playing bad. About everyone else sees that he needs to sink hundreds of shells into an enemy ship to sink it while about half of all hits on his ships are critical
@@mathiasrryba I never thought you where implying he was the British ship are mostly older ships that most likely why but sometimes the balance same a little unfair the fact that he got both the Japanese aircraft carrier so early into the campaign was prove enough of is skill
Frankly, I discovered Wolfpack thanks to the Single Malt Strategy podcast. I came to the channel thinking, oh well, this is some hardcore sim gaming not for me. But having watched a number of videos, I admit I love the intros, reminding me of the old documentary shows, I thoroughly enjoy the deadpan delivery, which sometimes has a bit of salt in it, but most of all, I enjoy the very dramatic gameplay. Wolfpack has a really impressive knowledge of WW2 ships and equipment. Impressed all the way. Occasional comedy moments are appreciated.
9:34, I haven't finished watching whole video yet but when you said the little sub chaser has lots of destroyers on her stern. I could imagine during battle, little K7 here goes "Akizuki I choose you!!!!" Then throws a depth charge into thr water turns into Akizuki. 😂 Oh and when it comes to those seaplane tendersn I believe there are 5 of them in the class. If anyone is familiar with Kamikawa maru that'll be her and her sisters. Neat ships them to be honest.
They are indeed Kamikawa Maru class tenders, the ship log Wolfpack flipped through quite fast listed them as such. The ship log also revealed that Wolfpack has already sunk both Tone class cruisers, 2 carriers, and an absolute boatload of merchants.
Six torpedo bombers lost for 37 000 tons of enemy ships sunk. I would not complain if I were you. Also, I would recommend you move your submarine base to Ceylon as soon as enemy ability to strike/invade has been crippled substantially enough for Ceylon to be relatively safe. I mean every day your submarines spend somewhere else than in hostile waters, is a day of lost opportunities to see if there is anything to sink.
It would be really cool to add a new dynamic where enemy ships that are severely damaged and/or severely outnumbered and unable to fight to just surrender. Send signals, flares, hoist a white flag. Would be really cool to see.
Ngl I thinks it’s much more entertaining if there are actual stakes and losses that hurt. A lot of killerfish games are basically „here’s your ship, now go sink the entire enemy navy“ and it just becomes ridiculous after a while. This campaign so far is extremely tense and I love it.
Well maybe but if you got to fly enough you ended up trusting the swordfish better than a lot of other aircraft besides its track record compared to aircraft from other nations that perform similar roles is a lot better
Please please please please please tell me where I can find it. the swordfish is my favorite plane out of the entirety of World War II I haven't been able to find a lot of personal accounts in it
@@whitewolf-xf9uiSeems like it's available at a number of different places online, probably pretty beat up copies but $5-15 is good for a book that hasn't been in print for a long while. Search for it yourself big man.
Yeah those swordfish banking off looked pretty cool i recon the crew on that sub chaser committed hari kari ,wish your videos were longer, love the show wolf, keep em coming.
You know ya don’t need to send the carriers in to repair to replenish the planes! As long as the lvl 3 or higher port has enough fuel and engineering you can you hit replenish ships and boom planes are back!
Love your patience and style of play. Very strategic, unlike many who just attack and attack! Would you consider using your command points to build a couple single freighters, doing nothing but bringing troops and supplies forward before getting a whole convoy? A single freighter hauling a thousand troops/hundreds of supply from the atoll or that port way at the left top of India dropping troops at Ceylon would save time while your battlegroups are protecting the Bay of Bengal. Seems one of the most critical problems in everyone's campaign is waiting for troops/supplies. If you can bring them forward as fast as possible they can be deployed much faster being closer to the front
Watching again just because. I just realized, you can target ships from in the submarine through the periscope view. Makes things a bit easier sometimes, especially when attempting to target multiple ships.
Most of the people "complaining" about the campaign don't mean that you're losing. But rather that getting in a gun duel seems to always put you in a disadvantage and thus there is no incentive to do these battles. Your ships seen to be made out of cardboard and instead of armour they have tnt stashed in there while the enemy ships seem to be made out of the finest stalinium. It can't be that even just engaging a sub chaser with a light cruiser seems to be impossible without getting major damage to your ships. What they need to do is nerf submarines and planes and instead buff (or just revert to normal) allied ships
Great video. Personally I think you're doing a great job, your resources are really light and distances make this a very difficult campaign. I enjoy watching a challenge!
I think you’re doing great ! This is my favourite campaign you’ve done so far, I love the urgency and the struggle and the lack of larger ships. also when you get a larger ship it changes everything. This is a perfect challenge for you and it’s great to watch it evolve, seems like it will be a long one which I love as well, but looking back on how far you’ve come at the end on it will be fun! Buckled in for this ride! Also you seem to get a lot of convoys passed port Blair, why not use 0-19 to guard those narrow passes into the bay ?
i would love a mod that you could go from the start all the way through the war . so all this good work really hurts by iron bottom sound. tracking all ship class losses.
Looks like somebody performed maintenance on the torpedos. That subchaser was hit by some torps that missed the turning seaplane tender. That's what did her in.
It has been said already but could you do the mediterranean campaign as it think it would be really cool and would be another Royal Navy and RAF pairing
I love Hermes as a carrier so awesome, however can we plz get a BB they cost like 75 c command points and you have 40 and it's about to be a new week! bring out the grand old lady HMS Warspite!
People saying you're not doing well, i disagree. You're doing a great job, i wouldnt call being a victim of some extremely unlucky mag explosions or some bomb misses are not what id call "not doing well" its just a touch campaign and you're learning
Honestly I wish that after an attack run has been completed, aircraft would automatically try to gain as much speed as they possibly can rather than moving at their bombing speed while trying to make their escape. I hope they add that in a future update.
Yeah he could have upped their speed to maximum I don't think it would have affected the Torpedoes very much but on the bright side having them go that slow makes it hard for enemy fighters to shoot him down just like in real life
Unfortunately that doesn’t happen in this game :( when you cripple a ship as soon as you get back to the tactical map the whole task force will move at full speed regardless of damage
Does upgrading the airports give access to better aircraft? Might be worth it, even building to lvl 1 might be worth it in order to get catalinas up to scout.
Fun fact: The ai basicaly dups every Merchant there is. They dupe the large personal Troop transport, all of the large Merchants and most of smaller Merchants. Even the Seaplane tenders are being duped
you can see it when he scrolls through the enemy losses. Multiple ships appear multiple times Its like they raise them up from the bottom after they are sunk
@@magnum6763 I like to call it Meitoses and it makes my opponed mutch more funnyer. Like think about fhighting an enemy that just dupes itself infront of you just to die the excat same way
With the merchant ships, it's more a case of the base game just using generic ship types for non-warships. (The mod seems to give distinct names to the troop transports, but last I checked the base game doesn't.) The resurrecting ships are a separate issue AFAICT.
@@dylandarnell3657 tbf the resurrecting ships are because the AI would run out of merchants in a week. I mean, look how many they have. Like 10 large merchants are available, 7 seaplane merchants, and like 20 small merchants. Plus like 100-200 small tiny smacks. I can see the AI running out of actual merchants and sending entire convoys of handcrafted wooden fishing boats loaded with 2 soldiers and a box of rations
The Fishing Boat may be carrying mines and that's possible for why that she exploded twice! The remaining Seaplane Tender launched two Jakes to protect what was left of that convoy that was 90% done in! As for the Subchaser she was probably hit by bombsplinters and developed temporary leaks which was quickly patched up enough to escape the surface ships of the RN and RAN as she did. Comprised of wood - she was lucky not to catch fire. As it is, she's going to be out of action for four or five further parts of your Indian Ocean campaign. Those leaks could occur again! A month to five weeks at least! O-19 might finish her off if encountering it by virtue of it's 4" gun. Though I suspect that being fairly well armed the Subchaser might prevail and you'll want O-19 as leading Sub of a Dutch or Allied Submarine unit to further restrict the Japanese Navy and Merchant Fleet from operating in the Indian Ocean.
This is true for pretty much all sims, but I wish they modeled catastrophic damage, even if not in the model itself but in the events. An aircraft tender filled with fuel, munitions etc would burn but then the deck would lift about 2 feet lol. A cargo ship with ammo, once it starts burning get away from it because its cargo is going to go off like a nuclear, sorry, noocular bomb. Fuel tenders would burst apart following initial explosions and the seas would burn. A hit to a warships magazine, well, anyone remember the Hood?
