PS: SOME PETS CAN FLY. If you're using flying troops, be sure that you're using a flying pet to go with them! There's still a lot to learn about how pets work, but this vid covers everything you need to know at the very start. And if you're wondering which pet to pick as your free pet, I wouldn't worry too much about which to go for. You'll end up catching way better over time. If you like mages, go with the faedrake.
I was about to comment about flying pets in flying marches lol. also some pets are physical based some are magic based and some are a mix. lizards are good with mages probably as well. well....certain types of lizzards
Hmm - I'm undecided about how I feel about how they handled the pets atm. On one hand, it takes an absurd amount of investment to make the pets do anything. On the other hand, they cap benefits that whales can get from it by introducing the randomness and limits to amounts of skill cards you can buy. So in the end, the pets have limited power or effect on how strong your marches are - which makes it less p2w, but also less impactful. I suppose it's a little micro optimisation system for people to play around and customise, without making it too p2w.
The implementation of pet skills is definitely botched. Whales will be able to get the pets maxed eventually regardless of the limitations. However, f2p players will not be able to maximize pets at all with the limitations and extremely limited customization features.
The randomness is limiting the f2p not the whales because whales have more chances to reroll and get a great roll eventually but for f2p they're doomed to praying for rng to land in. It's the same system that gacha use
The random placement of skills is a money generator (they did a similar thing in Art of Conquest with dragon abilities). It's designed so you might have some amazing skill that's overwritten so you buy (with cash) more skills to get back what you had, each with a chance of also killing another good skill
I did everything possible without spending money, maxed out policies, captures what i could, reset few atributes, sent some to be dinner and sold skils, clean they house and petted them. Even with all done, i only have 8 heart coins and cant pull or give gifts (didnt even unlocked it for some reason). Tldr: cant use my pets cause they stil lvl 1 affection and i didnt spend 6k dollars for the vip customer support where they actualy answer me. 2/10 very cool system 🎉
The pets system is 100% RNG, even with free slots When you buy skills it place randomly so it can be replaced whit the ones you have and leave empty spaces and if you don't save them you will lose the skills you purchased. but they know what they did, they did it so people waste more $$. plus you don't want to wait 10 days to get 100 pet tokens by cleaning their poops. I don't get it why some people defend this stupid money waisting system OK, I get it now I should just comment like this: This is the best update ever in COD it is soo friendly and cheap, That's the comment u looking for enjoy your spending it's worth the skills! 😉
After doing a ton of looking into this update, I kind of hate it. The number of skill cards a player can buy in one season is limited to 3 3 star cards and 5 2 star cards. When applying skill cards, they are assigned to a random skill slot, which means that one of your already filled skill slots can be replaced by a new skill, and you would either have to live with the new skill or abandon learning the skill, losing the card entirely. It says there is a higher chance of being able to replace an empty slot that doesn't have a skill than there is of replacing an active skill slot, but from the 4 tries I did at replacing a skill, 3 times it tried replacing an active skill. As for the base attribute system, its alright, since getting regeneration potions is quite easy, and your attribute rolls will generally be higher as you level a pet up I think, but I hate that the end game of the war pets system will be endlessly selling low level cards from releasing war pets, buying a few high level cards each season, only to have a chance of the game selecting a skill slot you don't want that skill to go in, and it being a complete waste. I like the variety of the war pets update, but its way too much rng for me. Its not made for f2ps, because it takes a long time to save up enough resources to get even one good pet, and it isn't good for spenders because your money might just be wasted in the end. (btw skill type is attribute based, there are 6 attributes, and 6 types of skill cards. A war pet must inherit skills from the exact same type of pet as well, it can't have any variance. You can get skill card expansions by freeing pets as well, same as how you get regeneration potions and skill cards.)
@@thetrib1 it definetly should get patch. But I am almost certain it won’t. It would be terribly received for those few who already spent in this system. But those few are most likely big whales and developers can’t do such a move against them
@@thetrib1 oh definitely. It makes no sense. I think its meant to be in the game as a sort of economy balancer, taking skill cards out of the economy so that it doesn't get inflated, but the bazaar feature already does that, by having players sell cards for less than what they can buy them at, and reseting it at daily, meaning more cards have to be sold then bought to maintain equality.
A little late to this, but thank you! I just started playing CoD and this has been incredibly helpful for evaluating the pets I have and will/won’t use. Great stuff!
Why such a convoluted system? You spend money in a skill card, and when u use it in a pet u spent a lot of time searching for the talent skill and u have the chance to lose the talent skill. This is not reasonable at all
Hey Chisgule I have the berserker frae and I can show you I have 2 skills that build on each other. You can get them individually from skill cards or individually while in the field. When learning skills I used a ton of the green gems learning and abandoning a skill just to get it to randomly drop in the right place. Please let me know if you’d like pictures of m build. I only have 7 skills I have not found 8.
I got really excited when I got my first skill card. And used it only to discover that it was going to overwrite a skill I wanted. So I canceled out of it. That kept the skill I wanted but the skill card was used up and gone.
I found it's important to load all 7 of your sanctuary slots out because only the first time you click it (double heart icon) does it give you that heart currency. After that it's only from cleaning the trash up. And swapping the pets out doesn't give you the double heart. Probably intentional. Now getting a new pet tamed that is different, it will double heart. I might need to double check if you only have 6 and then add the 7 after reset if it'll double heart that 7th. hmm... It is a little complicated.
Something I want to know, and if you don't make a video about this then I will, is that if you have 8 of 8 skill slots full and you regenerate the pet, will they lose a skill ever? Or can they only lose empty skill slots?
for some reason i can not relase a war pet to finish the quest back to nature and i have tryred to look up the glitch put can not find out what is going on if you can help please do.
is there a fix attribute to the pet? for example, the faedrake will most likely have the highest max out intelligence, while the bear has the highest strength/endurance? Or all pet has the same limit of attributes?
Do I need to meet a certain level to capture pets? The option capture is not available whenever I click on a pet it only gives me an attack option even though I have warrants available
I have a question, I bought a development fund and I'm in season 1, in a few days I'll move on to the next season. I would like to know if the development fund carries over to the next season? Because I have a dilemma whether to speed up the town hall and collect the rewards or do nothing and the package goes to the next season
i tried using a skill card but it was only possible if replacing an existing skill which i really liked (it was random) so i ended up giving up and the skill card just puff disappeared... i was like... WHAT???? don't like this mechanism at all
I feel like this system is more for spenders. The currency is just so slow to receive and is never the same. Because of this, f2p players must play for so long to get it from the store. The luck pulling system seems to be the only way to really get it. However, spenders can buy the currency and get whatever they want. If the currency resets every season, this system is for whales or very lucky people.
hey, question! my account doesn't seem to have a release pet button. it's not device-wide either because both my phone and pc dont have the button so im stuck on that quest
So in summary it's a fun feature, overly complex, n for your average player not worth your money unless your a mega whale it doesn't really do diddly squat thx I still have no clue how to get food to get it to lv2 but seriously do appreciate the effort chiz mate thx ggs
so... for now we just need to focus on capturing pets and no more until they fix all those missunderstanding for example that part when learning a new skill can overwrite another despite of being a slot aviable... thats kinda stupid and unfair
Note: At 19:06 you seem to say that the skill transfer ("Skill Inheritance) is able to be performed with pets from the same type, but I believe this is only possible with warpets from the same sub-type (e.g.: Frostbears is a distinctive subtype in comparison to the Striped Bear). This is what I've gathered from watching the stream of Mr.Sneakyy yesterday. Hope this gives a little bit of clarity :3 Edit: It seems quite counterintuitive because, in the description they only mention, I quote: "Skills from a warpet of the same type" but it should actually be the same sub-type.
U have to study to know all . buying skills are wasted money cuz it will always replace the best skill . I try now more than 20 times to bring one skill to an free spot and no chance it goes every try on the first skill. Or even on the best skill u need.. this is money robbery
